Perception is a mirror, not a fact
Let us consider the possibility that we have mistakenly bought into a belief system that we are an "effect" of what we see and that the cause of what happens to us is outside of ourselves. This belief frequently results in our feeling that we are a victim of the world we see. We often give away our power to others to decide whether we will be happy or not. There are many of us who behave like robots and allow or even direct others to press our happy, angry or depressed buttons.
It can be most helpful; to consider the possibility that what we see in another person may actually be a projection of our own feelings onto that person. So when we are blaming another person and are trying to control them by making them feel guilty we may actually be projecting our own guilty feelings which we deny and wish to keep away from our own conscious awareness. Is it not possible that when we are seeing an angry world, it is because we are harboring angry feelings in our hearts and in our minds? And likewise is it not true that when we are seeing a happy, loving world it is because we have had happy loving thoughts in our minds?
Let me embrace what I see in the world as a mirror of what is still unfinished in me.
Let me resolve my own unfinished business with forgiveness.
Today I will remind myself that perception is a mirror not a fact and I will take responsibility for every thought and experience that I have.
I will remind myself today that the cause of any conflict I may experience is within myself.
Today let me be a mirror that reflects the boundless love within me to all others.
