Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

April 21

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“The Holy Spirit is always present.
It is we who close the door.”

“Why would we ever close the door on the Holy Spirit? In our more conscious moments, we wouldn’t, of course. However, we drift into unconsciousness without even realizing it. And that makes us easy prey for the ego, the indomitable door-closer.”

“The ego wants to be in charge of our lives. The strength of its pull is evidenced in the many battles we have with other people on the job, in the neighborhood, or at home. We grow too accustomed to lives of strife, experiencing fear daily or hourly. Many people we journey with likewise struggle. We consider it normal.”

“Fortunately, we each know people who are more peaceful than we. Close observation generally reveals they don’t engage in conflict. They move away and smile. The Holy Spirit has spoken and they have listened.”

“Listening to the Holy Spirit is always an option.
Why not today?”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The meaningful question is never what we did yesterday, but what we have learned from it and are doing today.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “An untried moment is an unlit candle. Our mistrust of what we will find there keeps us from seeking the steadier ground and brighter vision offered by the present. We think of now as a place of boredom and tedium or of shocking pain that brings us back to our senses. So it requires a leap in faith just to try to settle into a lovingly illuminated quietness. This taste of divine peace, even if sustained, will not shield us from bad luck or unfair twists of fate. It operates on a different level of experience, but one that is definitely worth pursuing. The light from just one moment of stillness is instantly shared with others and permanently stored within us.”

Wayne Dyer, Manifest Your Destiny: “If all you are is a being of unconditional love, you are not involved in ego concerns. When you operate from this perspective you are practicing detachment in a state of gentleness, which makes you a compassionate witness toward everyone and everything you come into contact with.”

Paul Ferrini, Miracle of Love: “When you are doing the best you can in your life, you are making miracles constantly. When you are moving through your fear, seeing your projections, and reaching out lovingly to people who are dispirited or afraid, you are a miracle worker. But, if you are smart, you don’t call yourself a miracle worker.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I am renewed through the Christ within.
I express health and vitality in mind and body.”

“Holding only the highest thoughts of strength and vitality in mind, I make positive statements about my health. I know that through the Christ Spirit within, I am whole, well, and free. With faith in the renewing power of Christ, I speak life-affirming words.”

“My thoughts and words work together with the renewing power of Christ to strengthen my body and mind. Cooperating with the wisdom of Christ, I willingly accept divine guidance in making healthful choices and in following strengthening routines that promote greater well-being and energy.”

“The Christ within is my life and strength. I give thanks for this Divine Presence active within me. Renewed through the Christ within, I express health and vitality of mind and body.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 111

Review Lessons 91 & 92:

“Miracles are seen in light.”
“Miracles are seen in light, and light and strength are one.”

Lesson 111

Review Lessons 91 & 92
“Miracles are seen in light.”
“Miracles are seen in light, and light and strength are one.”
For me to change a thought of fear to a thought of love requires me to shine the light of which I am in a darkness I perceive. Once that darkness is no longer seen, love has filled the void. A change of thought – a miracle – is seen in the light of who I am, and within that light I have the strength of God.
