Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

April 28

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Fear triggers attack.”

“Any attack, whether verbal or physical, is caused by fear. When contemplating an attack, we need to ask ourselves, “What is causing the fear?” That’s the issue to consider, and the answer is always the same. Fear occurs when we align ourselves with the ego. Fear has no life of its own.”

“The urge to attack another person is manageable. We can always curtail the impulse if we are willing to seek the help of the Holy Spirit. Its voice is softer than the voice of the ego, so we have to grow quiet to hear it. But we’ll see our “opponent” quite differently after listening to the Spirit.”

“The Holy Spirit is capable only of love. If we are not at peace in a situation, or if we harbor any thought other than love, we are not aligned with the quiet voice. The only barrier to feeling love is the one the ego constructs. We are lucky that its voice can be ignored in an instant.”

“The voice I hear today determines my level of peace.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Every woman, and every man, too, must take responsibility in their hearts for all children. As the parental generation, every child is our child. It ignore the state of our children is to ignore the state of the world.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “This day is blessed. Because God encircles it and flows softly through it, my heart beats gently. My eyes are comforted by God’s restful presence. My feel walk on the path prepared by God, and my hand holds God ‘s in peace.”

Wayne Dyer, Manifest Your Destiny: “Unconditional love and becoming a co-creator in your life is possible when you know that God is not separate from you. You and God are one and the same… “

Paul Ferrini, Miracle of Love: “I never said this path would be easy. There are real challenges here which you must learn to meet. You too become fearful and act in hostile ways toward others who don’t deserve your anger or your blame. You must learn to apologize to others for these attacking behaviors. You must see the times when you are callous and unloving and take responsibility for treating people with greater gentleness and respect. This is a two-way street. Everyone who has been mistreated by another has mistreated others at one time or another. All of you have the same lessons to learn in this regard.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I connect with the divine order that is everywhere present
– in all stillness and activity.”

“I tap into an inner divine wisdom to evaluate my plans about any situation. I do this by finding a comfortable space, a soothing environment, and becoming still.”

“Relaxed and at peace, I breathe deeply and evenly. I think only of God’s presence and wait for an infilling of ideas that this recognition brings me. I linger in the silence and let thoughts that seem significant and meaningful come to mind. Calm and serene, I am led to take right action.”

“I may not always sense the divine order that is in my life, but I have faith that it is always there. God’s order is in every situation, no matter how extreme it may seem. I connect with the divine order that is everywhere present – in all stillness and activity.

From A Course in Miracles: Lesson 118

Review Lessons 105 & 106

“God’s peace and joy are mine.”
“Let me be still and listen to the truth.”

Lesson 118

Review Lessons 105 & 106
“God’s peace and joy are mine.”
“Let me be still and listen to the truth.”

I accept that the peace and joy of God are mine. Why is it that I often times am not experiencing that peace and joy? The reason is obvious and so simple – I am choosing not to! I am choosing to be led by ego to a place of fear and confusion when I could be in peace and joy. In those moments, I become still and listen to the guidance that lies within me – I listen to my truth – and I experience the peace and joy of which I am.
