Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

May 11

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“The Holy Spirit always speaks to us.”

When we’re in the midst of an argument or panic attack, we may be slow to remember an immediate solution: quieting our minds to hear the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It will always offer us the calmness we need. Unfortunately, Its voice is seldom as loud as the ego’s. That’ why it takes willingness and commitment to change how we listen if, indeed, we are to experience the serenity we deserve.

Just knowing the Holy Spirit is always there is the first lesson in our new way of living. Practicing a method of meditation or relaxation can help us quiet our minds so we can listen for guidance. When the really hard stuff comes along, like the loss of a job or the dissolution of a friendship, we’ll be able to collect our thoughts and know the feeling of peace in a tiny instant. All we’ll have to do is stop, breathe deeply, and listen.”

“Today I will listen for the Holy Spirit’s guidance.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “A Course in Miracles says that our greatest tool for changing the world is our capacity to “change our minds about the world.” Because thought is the creative level of things, changing our minds is the ultimate personal empowerment.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “My behavior reflects my state of mind. My mind, not my behavior, is the appropriate focus. Trying to use mental sentences to change my behavior is like standing before my shadow and commanding it to move. It’s not the words I think but the overall motive I have that characterizes my effect on others and myself. When I focus only on controlling behavior, I relinquish the goal of a consistent mental state. I can strive for inner consistency or outer consistency, but not both. How whole I am mentally determines how intuitive I am about people and how sensitive I am to their needs, as well as to my own.”

Wayne Dyer: “…when you meditate you bring God’s silent love into your present moments. In silence and stillness God’s energy will become yours.”

Paul Ferrini: “Much of your pain is caused by your erroneous belief that you are cut off from the Source of love. Give up that belief and love will find you instantly.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“God’s healing presence is renewing me now.”

“I am praying for you, dear one, affirming that you are whole and well. The life of God is glowing throughout your body, a healing presence of ever-renewing life.”

“You are always in my thoughts and prayers. Today and ever day, I affirm for you that the order of God is working in and through your life, blessing you with peace and abundance.”

“Every day is a new opportunity for you, a chance for you to live your life to the fullest of your potential. In my prayers for you, I behold you as you truly are. You are a radiant, glowing child of God who is giving expression to the many qualities of God’s spirit within you.”

“Dear one, you are in my life-affirming thoughts and prayers.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 131

“No one can fail who seeks to reach the truth.”

Lesson 131

“No one can fail who seeks to reach the truth.”

You all know how the Course is written to “you” – directly at me personally, right? Taking this lesson I can easily state: I cannot fail in my search for the truth. I am assured of no failure – I am assured to finding the truth. And I also have been told where it is – within. An odd description perhaps but nonetheless exactly where it is at – within – within the very essence of who I am – within the very silence I also seek within – within the sanctuary of my soul. I cannot fail to reach my truth for only truth exists.
