Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Do nothing without the counsel of God.”
“When we take stock of our past, we recoil from many of the memories. In some instances, we felt victimized. In others, we were the perpetrators. Whoever was the culprit in each situation failed to seek the counsel of God. Had the voice of the Holy Spirit been sought, a hurtful act would never have been would never have been committed.
It’s possible that we can act I n a loving manner even when we fail to seek proper guidance. We can’t be certain, however, that we are doing so. Thus, the safest avenue is to ask for the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and then wait. It will always come, but not necessarily as quickly as we think we need it. That’s what often triggers the ego to get into the act. Its impatience moves us to force control, and unfortunate outcomes result.
God promises that we’ll move through our experiences safely and that we’ll learn what we need from them if we choose Him as our companion. Life can be satisfying when we journey in good company.”
“I won’t be faced with struggle or confusion today if I seek proper counsel.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “As our thoughts rise, the worlds rises. This is the resurrection of the human mind.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Tolerance and understanding transcend ‘right and wrong.’ There can be no absolute right or wrong in a world of individuals. Reality is what reality is. Whatever it may be, it is so vast that no one person sees it all. There could be no more relationship standoffs if simply this much was realized: We are all looking at the immense reality – and each of us is seeing something. When I reject another person’s point of view completely, I am saying that he or she is not looking at anything. I already know what I have to say. Wouldn’t it at least be more interesting to hear what they have to say?”
Wayne Dyer: “Choosing peace is an energizing call to action that eliminates self-pity and thoughts of why something shouldn’t be happening. Choosing peace then gives you a serene quiet mind that makes conscious contact with God and brings peace to bear on the so-called problem.”
Paul Ferrini: “It is easy for you to love your friend. Most the time your friend agrees with you and supports you…But your enemy disagrees with you. He believes that you are wrong. He sees your weaknesses and would do his best to exploit them…He is therefore your very best teacher.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Through the love of God within me,
I bring harmony to the situations around me.”
“What can I do when appearances suggest that there is disagreement or disorder among the people around me? I stand firm on the truth: I know and affirm that the love of God is working in and through me and everyone around me to bring about a peaceful, harmonious resolution.”
“Being conscious of the unifying effect of divine love, I bring harmony to every situation. I feel the positive effects of God’s love in me and on those around me. Tempers are soothed and a feeling of peace settles upon every person. Agreement is reached when there seems to be no way for shared understanding.”
“Loving, harmonious thoughts become a part of our conversation, permeating the very atmosphere around us.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 136
“Sickness is a defense against the truth.”
Namaste – Ron

Lesson 136
“Sickness is a defense against the truth.”
When I see myself as “sick” I realize that I am not willing to see the truth of me, I am not willing to see me as the complete, whole, eternal Son of God. When I see myself sick, I see myself in fear – fear that I am separate from God – fear that I shall receive some punishment from God for the thoughts I hold while I am in this dream of separation. There is nothing in truth that requires any defenses.
