One of the main efforts in modern medicine is to show individuals that their
thoughts are the principal causes of their physical problems, and that
once they learn to avoid thinking in a manner that inhibits the natural
normal flow of life through the body, it readily returns to a state of
health. The body has its roots, its source, its pattern in a spiritual
world-in the nature of God, which is perfect. But we seem to go out of our
way to maintain ideas and thoughts contrary to this perfection which in
turn prevents it from being manifested in and through our body and our
affairs. Healthful living is available for us to experience when we
reeducate ourselves to think in terms of health rather than of illness.
This applies to the entire realm of thinking. Every thought has some effect
and helps shape our experience, Our great freedom is that we may choose our thoughts! We need to begin to think anew about ourselves and our
relationships to God. Let us practice the principle of beholding ourselves,
and all others as well as children of God, until that principle makes its
appearance in all of our relationships. Too long have we misinterpreted
life in words of hate and condemnation, of fear and limitation.
There is a perfect spiritual body which is a part of everyone's divine
heritage. No matter through what other avenues we may seek to meet our
physical and mental needs, let us often sit in the silence of our own soul
in adoration of the inner Spirit. Let us in consciousness revere the God
who never did anything wrong.
Remember this: Any word you speak with meaning will have power. Do not try
to use words I write, the words of other writers, or even words that are in
the Bible. They are good, but the word that springs spontaneously in your
own heart and mind is the right word to use in prayer or treatment.
Let us believe as we have never believed before in the imprisoned splendor
within ourselves, set free by our own words. God has willed it, the law of
God establishes it, and our experiences may demonstrate it. The Source of
all good we have so earnestly sought out, we have with us. Our health, our
permanent well-being lie in our realization of our eternal life in God. In
Sprit we live and move and have our being, but we must deny everything that
denies this and affirm that which establishes it.
We are One with the Whole that what is true of it is also true of us. Life
is forever taking form in us. The entire order is one of spontaneous being
and spontaneous manifestation. The law follows the word just as the word
follows the desire. This creative process goes on whether we agree that it
does or not. Our experiences will change when we purposefully desire to
change them for the better.
Going forth into the early morn of a day of new hope forgetting the old,
rising, above the doubt and fear of yesterday, let us dare to believe that
today there comes into our consciousness something new, something noble,
something transcendent, which sings to us of a joy ineffable, of a God
approachable, of a hope realized, of a life lived in wholeness.
