Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Extending love to you heals me.”
“Too often we hold back, waiting for someone else to give to us before we respond. Simply reacting to life grows tiresome, however. To risk acting first offers us real freedom. Until we try it, we can’t imagine how empowering it is.”
“All of us think we are in a state of need. We think we need more money, more possessions, more beauty, or more friends. If only we had enough, our problems would dissolve. The paradox is that whatever we think we lack is supplied when we give, and so get, more love.”
“We can heal the lack we feel in only one way: by extending ourselves lovingly, to others. We may hesitate to extend ourselves because we fear we’re unworthy of others. What could we possibly have that they’d want?”
“It’s time for suspending our fears and disbelief. It’s time for daring to love.”
“I yearn to be healed.
On any day my soul aches, I can soothe it by offering love.
Today I’ll find an opportunity.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “We can accept the future in the present moment. The Jews say the Messiah is coming; the Christians say the Messiah has been here; Einstein said there is no time. The truth is, the Messiah is within.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Judging judgmentalness is still judging. How can I presume to block the way of love by weighing which of God’s children is deserving and which is not? Anyone is free to break my spiritual rules. If in the name of my faith I say they are not, that is merely judging in order to stop judging.”
Wayne Dyer: “Absolute love cannot reside with hate so it is your job in these moments to sow love where there is hatred.”
Paul Ferrini: “Everybody lives in a prison of reactivity until the wound is made conscious. It is not just the criminal who is behind bars. The men and women who put him there live behind different bars.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Always in God’s presence, I am divinely guided in thought and action.”
“Sometimes the world can seem so big that we feel small and alone. However, we are not small and alone. We are a part of God’s creation, a divine plan that is constantly unfolding.”
“Let us look at the world and see God’s guidance at work. Each little seed within the earth follows God’s plan for it as it breaks free from its shell and springs forth with new life. Think of how the birds that soar through the air know instinctively how to build their nests and nurture their young until their offspring, too, learn to soar through the sky.”
“God imparts knowledge that each living creature needs. This is true for us also. As God’s creations, we do amazing things by an inner knowing. We are divinely guided in all that we do.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 153
“In my defenselessness my safety lies.”

Lesson 153
“In my defenselessness my safety lies.”
When I am in my ego mode, I feel like I must be constantly defensive in my world – constantly on guard for what could happen to me. And all that gives me is a high level of anxiety – just a bunch of fears – over nothing, for no one can do anything to me. I know now that only minds “attack.” My not being defensive – showing my defenselessness – is my strength against all fears that come before me. I have no need to be defensive – only when I forget who and what I am.
