Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

June 14

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“We choose between Truth and illusion every minute.”

“Why would we choose illusion over Truth? How can illusion hold any interest for us? The explanation is both clear and confusing. The ego, which generally seems to be the “whole” of us, is invested in the illusory world. The ego creates what we see and protects it. The events and the people we experience invite out control; we love and hate this world simultaneously.

To choose Truth means to detach, more or less, from all that we see here. We quietly and willingly rise above the chaos in search of inner peace, which is the underlying truth, according to God. But our dilemma is this: How can chaos be ignored when it adversely affects so many? The Course reminds us that the ego creates the chaos for its selfish purposes; the Truth lies only within the peace. We can best address the chaos by ignoring it. We can foster meaningful healing by contributing to and acknowledging only peace.”

“I will look beyond the chaos today and feel only peace.
This will help heal every situation.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom:     “We don’t reach the light through endless analysis of the dark. We reach the light by choosing the light. Light means understanding. Through understanding, we are healed.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes:          “Ego emotions are manufactured by thoughts. Fighting ego emotions is a losing battle, but awareness of the  thoughts that produce them allows me to stop being a victim. Small children are controlled – all their ideas, movements, and emotions – by the thought that there might be a monster under the bed. Hearing their parents say, “There are no monsters,” does not lessen the power of the thought. Yet if they turn on a light and look under the bed, they take responsibility for their mind and reclaim control of it. Likewise, telling myself that a feeling of sadness, fear, anger, or loneliness is unreasonable will not stop the feeling. Yet if look closely at the particular thought under the emotion, I loosen its grip.”

Wayne Dyer:          “In the moments when you are not witnessing hatred, you can also sow love.”

Paul Ferrini:          “Unless you commit to your own awakening, others can offer you only detours, side trips, running in place. Time goes by, but nothing changes.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I am free! Praise God! I am free!”

“There is a freedom that rings true in my heart, a freedom that is more real than what I may see taking place in the world around me. This is the freedom that God has given me, a freedom of heart and mind and spirit that supercedes any outer appearances.”

“I am free! Praise God! I am free! I am free with the freedom of spirit, a freedom that lifts me up on wings of love and carries me forward to a place in mind and heart where nothing can keep me from expressing my freedom. I am free with the spirit of God that is love and understanding and acceptance.”

“I celebrate my freedom by thinking my own thoughts and then sending those thoughts out to the world as powerful affirmations of love.”

A Course in Miracles:          Lesson 165

“Let not my mind deny the Thought of God.”

Lesson 165

“Let not my mind deny the Thought of God.”

Each day of this dream I am in, I am constantly kept very busy by ego so that I will forget God – forget who I am in truth. But I have Spirit with me whenever I call for help – and I call upon Spirit constantly – daily – moment by moment – to quiet my mind so that I may remember my Self – so that I may recall who and what I am – and that we are all One with God.
