Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“There is nothing to be afraid of.”
“It’s not easy to internalize the principle that there is nothing to be afraid of. We likely grew up in families where we observed fear firsthand. Now our companions are frequently afraid. So are our children and other loved ones. Fear seems to be a universal emotion. The great news is that it doesn’t have to plague us. The remedy is simple. If we’re afraid, we’ve forgotten the presence of the Holy Spirit who is here to protect us and make us peaceful. All we have to do is recall It to memory.
How can we discard fear? Let’s practice with small, relatively insignificant experiences. They will be affected by and changed in exactly the same way more serious experience will be. The routine is this: When a feeling of dread erupts, immediately image the Holy Spirit. Remember that Its assignment from God is to comfort us and bring us peace. Learning, as we will, that we can count on It every time teaches us that we can be free of fear. Forever.”
“Today can be as peaceful as I want it to be.
Even in the face of disaster, the Holy Spirit will give me peace.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “We receive God’s peace when we ask Him for it. We keep His peace by extending it to others.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Whenever I stumble, let my response be to wait in stillness on my God. Let me make gentleness and mental quietness my standard, my protection, and my goal. Let me not chew on the ego’s meatless bones: what someone meant by something they said. How hopelessly incompetent I am. How unfair life is. How misunderstood I am by my family. How impossible spiritual attainment is. Let me instead practice the Answer, which is stillness of mind, connection with others, and trust in God.”
Wayne Dyer: “By getting to know someone, by spending time with them, by making a little effort to sow some love toward anyone from whom you feel hatred might be emanating, you create an atmosphere of openness where love has a chance to bloom.”
Paul Ferrini: “Most relationships fall apart as soon as trouble comes along. The promise ‘to have and to hold, in sickness and in health’ is for most people an exercise in absurdity, for many people go the altar without having taken the time to get to know each other.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“I am a healthy and whole being of spirit, mind, and body.”
“My total well-being involves my awareness of myself as a whole being: spirit, mind, and body. My practice of using life-affirming affirmations is a powerful way that I nourish this awareness.”
“I am a healthy and whole being of spirit, mind, and body. Each time I repeat this affirmation, I am proclaiming that my health and wholeness originate with God’s spirit within me.”
“I also take inventory of what I can do to support my own health. Perhaps I decide to change my diet or introduce more physical activity into my daily routine. I may resolve to spend time in prayer in order to uplift my spirits. I cooperate with my ongoing health and wholeness, knowing and affirming that God created me to be healthy and whole.”

Lesson 171
Review Lesson 151 & 152
“All things are echoes of the Voice for God.”
“The power of decision is my own.”
What does that mean, that all things are echoes of the Holy Spirit? All things are but echoes that which lies within me? All things are but thoughts within my mind, never leaving the mind. How I see these things is based on how I choose to see them. The decision to see with Spirit – to see Love wherever I look – or to see with the guidance of ego – see turmoil and suffering – that decision is mine alone to make. Knowing that only Love is real helps me in making that decision.
