Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Our minds are split.”
“We have certainly all be confused over making good decisions. Probably we’ve even said, “I just don’t know. I’m torn between two options.” The Course teaches us how one option frequently reflects the controlling ego, while the other option reflects the Spirit.
The question to ask is, which one feels best? Thinking we are right and that people should live their lives our way makes us tense, particularly when they don’t behave as we’d like, which is often. We aren’t eager to admit it , but the ego has caused the tension – not their behavior.
Letting go of people, outcomes, specific plans isn’t easy at first. It feels like we are shirking our duty. That’s how attached we are to letting the ego hold us hostage. It doesn’t feel good though, because every other ego wants its own say too. So we live in perpetual tension.
Since our minds have two parts, why not respond to the world from the Spirit, the side of us that makes us peaceful? It’s worth considering, isn’t it?”
“Both the Sprit and ego beckon today.
Only the Spirit offers me peace of mind.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The inner life is like a garden we haven’t really thought of planting, which will bear all the fruit we could ever want, once we think to tend to its needs.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “I am never a victim of my thoughts unless I want to be. I can choose to overlook my ego thoughts and say I’m not really responsible because I lack awareness. Or I can acknowledge these thoughts yet choose to be destructive anyway “because the temptation is just too great.” But there is never total unawareness. No ‘hardwiring,’ ‘basic nature,’ or ‘inner demons’ can force me to betray my higher mind. However I may justify betrayal of myself or others, I alone choose to be a victim of my thoughts.”
Wayne Dyer: “When I say there is a spiritual solution to every problem, I am not leaving out the problems we face with our health. While I am not disparaging the medical community in any way, I am suggesting that it is not doctors or medicines or therapy that heals anyone.”
Paul Ferrini: “Stay in the rhythm of life. Be open to others, but do not go out of your way to find them. Those who know how to dance will meet you halfway. It will not be a struggle.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Christ in me is my source of unlimited potential.”
“Right here where I am, right now in this moment, I give my full attention to the kingdom of God, the Christ consciousness that is within me. In an all-pervading realization of the Christ as my source of divine understanding, I give expression to divine qualities.”
“Through the Christ of my being, I express the highest and best thoughts, words, and behaviors. Unlimited possibilities await me as I express the Christ within.”
“Looking beyond current circumstances, I perceive my life with clarity. I see past seeming obstacles to the potential that lies within each new day. Christ in me is my source of unlimited potential. I am moving forward in accepting and fulfilling my divine potential day by day.”

Lesson 179
Review Lessons 167 & 168
“There is one life, and that I share with God.”
“Your grace is given me. I claim it now.”
There is and forever shall be one Life – the Life of Living with God – the Life of Loving God and within that Life is the Oneness of us all. Your grace is given when I look upon you and see our Oneness reflected back to me. By your grace – your love – I am free of all past I ever imagined. I take your grace – your love – and claim as mine now. As I claim I also give my grace to another.
