Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

July 4

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“All people are equal.”

“The ego gleefully makes us feel inadequate to others. We can’t forget that the ego’s only hold on us is in making us feel fearful, less than adequate to the tasks and the people around us. Refusing to accept this as our reality, takes both Herculean strength and the humility to look to the Holy Spirit for a different perception of ourselves.

While we are equal, we each have different personalities, unique strengths and weaknesses, and specific dreams and abilities. It’s easier to accept our complexities when we remember that every one of us needed to make the Whole. We all bring something vital to the “party.”

When we believe in our equality, we are less threatened and more peaceful. The next step then to accepting that we are all One, is not so far removed from our understanding. When we understand our Oneness, we are home.”

“I am as I need to be.
I am neither better nor worse than my companions.
I am their equal in every way today.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Our freedom is not guaranteed by the Constitution; the only thing that guarantees freedom, ultimately, is our own commitment to it. That commitment must include our capacity to love each other as human beings, to remember we are brothers and sisters on this planet, and to surrender to God any thoughts we have to the contrary.”

Hugh Prater, Morning Notes: “Acknowledging my problems is a positive sign of willingness. It is not negative thinking. The journey toward perfection is, by definition, a path of imperfection. Each step is a slight correction of the faulty direction in which I am heading. I have a right to many things, but a life without problems is not one of them.”

Wayne Dyer: “When we rid ourselves of the ideas that create the illusions of our diseases we open ourselves to the potential for creating perfect health.”

Paul Ferrini: “If you want to succeed in your relationships with others, take the time to get to know yourself. Then it will be clear when and to whom you must say no and when and to whom you can say yes.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I celebrate my freedom and the freedom of people around the world.”

“The freedom to be who I am and to express my thoughts and opinions is one of God’s greatest gifts to me. Yet freedom of spirit is a gift that is meant for every child of God, and I can celebrate my own freedom by praying for and affirming the freedom of people around the world.”

“In my prayers, I pray that people from all walks of life let go of judgments about the beliefs or customs of others that are different from their own. Instead, I see people the world over embracing the diversity that God created and finding the beauty in a variety of cultures.”

“I celebrate my freedom and the freedom of people around the world by encouraging others to express their individuality. I celebrate freedom for all through my loving actions, thoughts, and prayers.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 185

“I want the peace of God.”
