Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

July 6

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Pain has only one cause.”

“Most times we feel surrounded by signs of pain. The media inform us that children, worldwide, are starving. Signs of political strife are evident in most countries. Senseless, random violence strikes even the most protected neighborhoods. The signs of pain are multiplying. How can there be only one cause?

The Course tells us that fear causes pain because fear triggers attack, in some form, on whomever is close. It’s neither logical nor defendable. As we understand fear, its cause and its consequences, we can seek its alternative, love.

If the idea of holding only loving thoughts seems unattainable, it’s because we haven’t tried it. It’s doable. It’s the only antidote to the painful conditions throughout the world. Realistically, none of us can change the experiences of every living person, but each of us can change the experiences of all those whom we touch. And that’s the beginning of the end of pain.”

“I will make a contribution on behalf of love today.
My example will influence someone else too.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom:     “God gives us abundance in all things, that we might use it on behalf of the healing of the world.

Hugh Prater, Morning Notes:          “Freedom is a quiet state of mind. Stillness is the beginning step in freeing the mind of useless battles. Stillness is often associated with physical quietness and restricted activity, but the effort I must make is to carry inner calmness into each small task. In this way, I establish a theme of freedom that runs continuously through my day regardless of how loud or hectic it may become.”

Wayne Dyer:     “Recognize your own spiritual perfection and you will come to know the absurdity of anything ever being viewed as impossible.”

Paul Ferrini:          “Imagine living with another person without trying to change him or her in any way. Imagine that your calling is to accept where that person is, at any time, and to accept where you are in that same moment.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I am in my right place throughout this divine appointment day.”

“I have divine appointments today in which I am in my right place to give or receive a blessing. These are important events that are not happening by chance but according to a divine design.”

“Yet I may have no indication that I am showing up for a divine appointment. Sometimes my first response in participating in the unfoldment of a divine plan seems, at the very least, unrelated to the positive and powerful results that are about to occur. The extraordinary, however, does come about.”

“As that divine plan continues to unfold, it is a revelation for me. I understand that because I acted in faith and with conviction, I accepted an opportunity to bless and be blessed. And the journey continues as I move through life being in my right place.”

A Course in Miracles:          Lesson   187

“I bless the world because I bless myself.”
