Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

July 14

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Belief in separation causes every problem.”

“Is it possible to think of ourselves as a single, unified whole with others? Every encounter we have feels like we are separate minds and separate bodies. In particular, The differing opinions that emerge about every experience substantiates this notion. But this is so only because we have chosen to believe we are separate, rather than One. If this belief doesn’t serve us well, why do we cling to it?”

“Our teachers would tell us that separation is a trick of the ego. It keeps us stuck and at odds with one another. In one mad moment, the mind devised the separation and this world of conflict. Our task is to return to the Real World where we are peacefully One, even now.”

“How do we get there? Make the decision to go. It’s that simple. Look upon your brothers and your sisters as extensions of yourself, and only that, and you will have arrived.”

“My problems exist only in my mind.
Today I can feel peace.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom:     “We must keep in mind that where the road is crooked, God makes it straight, and where our hearts are wounded, God makes us whole. As we open our hearts in purity and simplicity, admitting to God that we are completely powerless in the area of our problem, His illumination redeems us.”

Hugh Prater, Morning Notes:          “If I compare myself spiritually to another, I see oneness. But if I compare my ego to theirs, I do not see. We each have different versions of illness and physical incapacity. Likewise, our personalities, none of which are perfect, are flawed in individual ways. No matter what aspect of a person is being considered, whether teacher or student, ‘old soul’ or ‘new,’ believer or nonbeliever, one individual is no more divine than another. To believe we are superior because we are more likeable, better looking, ‘have money,’ have children, or are called ‘master’ or ‘advanced’ within a spiritual discipline, is self-delusion and a complete block to peace.”

Wayne Dyer:     “If you know that healing is nothing more than God realization, and you abandon all thoughts of being separate from that consciousness, including fear of illness and death, then you create an energy field for rejoining with spirit.”

Paul Ferrini:          “Imagine having a ‘we’ awareness, where you once had an ‘I’ awareness. Imagine being as devoted to your partner’s comfort, pleasure and well-being as you are to your own.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I bring harmony, love, and peace wherever I go.”

“When I listen to a symphony orchestra, I marvel at how the combined efforts of so many musicians can create such a beautiful work of art.”

“Life can be like that as well. I choose how I react in any situation. My actions help to bring harmony to my home, to my workplace, even to brief encounters with strangers I may meet.”

“Just as musicians take their cues from a conductor, other people may take their cues from me and act accordingly. My smiles tend to bring smiles in return. My friendly words may help to bring healing to a wounded heart. Staying centered in an awareness of God’s love for all, I can help others see themselves in that same light.”

“Today I choose to bring harmony, love, and peace wherever I go.”

A Course in Miracles:          Lesson 195

“Love is the way I walk in gratitude.”
