Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Lifelong relationships aren’t always smooth.”
“It’s common for individuals to discard relationships that aren’t pleasant. In terms of the Course, however, we are attracted to learning partners by design. Leaving a hostile relationship probably means working out that same struggle with someone else, some other time. It’s not wrong to decide to leave, but let’s not assume there’s no lesson in every encounter.
Looking at the relationships from this perspective removes the fear about them. Acknowledging that conflict is due to the ego’s selfishness makes it possible to understand its attempt to control. We come to believe that we need not get along beautifully every minute of the day for a relationship to be lifelong and meaningful. The desire to join as One in spirit and love rather than fight as separate, hateful human beings is reason enough to open our hands to the Holy Spirit each time some tension ensues.”
“I don’t have to be happy every minute to stay in a relationship.
I will take note of the opportunities to see beyond the struggles today.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “No matter what the shape of a problem, its form or its size, a miracle can handle it. Miracles mean that at any moment we can begin again. No matter what the problem, as long as we return our minds to a graceful position now, the universe will always help to clean up the mess and start over.”
Hugh Prater, Morning Notes: “Let me no be afraid to relax and be happy. I can’t put myself in jeopardy by resting a moment in God. When I’m in the grip of my ego – whether angry, discouraged, afraid, jealous, judgmental, or any number of other such attitudes – I still have the option of pausing and remembering that God wants me to be happy and has provided a way for that to happen. Simply remembering God renews my connection with the place what I am already whole.”
Wayne Dyer: “The healer is not performing the healing, but bringing pardon in the form of unconditional love and the faster energy of spiritual consciousness to bear on the injury, while turning the entire process over to God.”
Paul Ferrini: “The Christ Mind is the end of separate thoughts, separate agendas, separate wills. The Christ Heart is the end of disparate feelings and special love. The Christ Consciousness has one thought, one agenda, one will, one love for all beings.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“I live in the present moment,
knowing there is time enough to do all that is mine to do.”
“Yesterday is over. Tomorrow is yet to come. I live in the present moment, savoring its joys and learning from its challenges. The past and future have their places, but my place is now. I choose what I want to accomplish in the present.”
“I know that I will always have time enough to do the most important things, for there is always time enough for laughter. I have time enough to be a friend and to show kindness to others. I have time enough for work and for play. I have time enough to do whatever fulfills the longing of my heart.”
“Today I have time enough to accept God’s good and to rest in God’s loving embrace. I have time enough to do all that is mine to do.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 199
