Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

July 27

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Helping others is always right.”

“Whenever we extend the hand of friendship to someone else, we are befriending ourselves as well. We aren’t separate minds and separate bodies. We only think we are. And we will grow in our understanding of our connectedness as we absorb the benefits of our kindnesses to others. What we offer comes back to us. In reality, it never even leaves us. Each of us heals as others are healed.

Knowing that we share the same journey as the mean and women we meet each day removes the threat of their presence. This doesn’t man that every person will treat us kindly or respect our opinions. Each of us struggles between listening to the ego and letting the voice of God decide our path, our actions, our thoughts. But knowing how similar we are to others removes the fear we harbor.

Seeing our own fear reminds us that our fellow travelers have it too. Helping them feel more comfortable is today’s assignment.”

“I will take every opportunity to ease another’s load today.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom:     “Intimacy is where we are willing to move so deeply into love that the demons do not deter us from our conviction to make it through to the light.”

Hugh Prater, Morning Notes:          “The external can’t be made to reflect the spiritual. In the world, there has never been a symbol of eternal, unchanging oneness. There has never been a moment of peace that began and never ended. If I am to find oneness and peace, it will be within the consistency of my own heart.”

Wayne Dyer:          “Take care of the sick but be indifferent to the illness.”

Paul Ferrini:          “You must be realistic if you choose to walk this path. While your partnership may occasionally be fun and free of pain – and this is a great goal to aspire to – there may be just as many times when you and your partner are wounded and defensive.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I am poised, strengthened, and at peace.”

“There is a common expression that experience is the best teacher. I see the experiences of my past as resources that will help me make wise choices in the future. Even an experience that I consider a mistake shows me what not to do. Seeming mistakes help me learn to trust my resilience and they contribute to my wisdom.”

“Devoting time to meditation, prayer, and contemplation, I make choices from an inner place of wisdom and peace. These are spiritual experiences that help me obtain a deep awareness of God that cannot be undone by any outer condition. In conscious communion with God, I  understand my relationship with God and my relationship with the people in my life.”

A Course in Miracles:          Lesson  208

Review Lesson 188
“I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.”
“The Peace of God is shining in me now.”
