Seeds for the Garden of your MInd

August 3

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

"Pleasure and pain are the same because they are about the body."

"One of the most difficult concepts in A Course in Miracles is, the body isn't real; it's illusory. It's difficult to dismiss injuries, for instance. A broken leg has to be set, doesn't it? A collision with another body is painfully felt, by both. How are occurrences like these explained if bodies aren't real"

Enlightened students of the Course understand that bodies are not real in the ultimate explanation of life, but they do serve as our vehicles for moving through this experience. What we can develop, however, is the willingness to see beyond the body and feel no pain related to it. Jesus, while on the cross, served as our role model.

The question facing us is, "Why would we want to ignore injuries?" The answer is, Nothing worthy is gained by acknowledging them. When we focus on our injuries, we are honoring the ego, and it is not serving us. Its creating our battles in fact.

Let's not fret too much if this concept baffles us. Putting our focus, instead, on simply seeing whatever the Holy Spirit wants us to see will give us our necessary answers.

"My body is an extension of the ego.

It will not hinder me in any way if I stay attuned to the Holy Spirit today."

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: "Since all thought is thought about ourselves, to condemn another is to condemn ourselves."

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: "Worry does not protect me. Intuition is born of peace. Keeping our guard up has come to mean keeping our mind focused on our archive of fears, as if the universe has a conscience and if it sees that we aren't receiving our quota of hardships, it soon will set the balance right. Yet in every life a little sunshine must fall. This is normal, so I dont need to sweat it. Nor do I need to doubt that there is a blessing that transcends occasional good luck and favorable circumstances. That which is greater than us is greater in all respects, including unwavering kindness, eternal commitment, and unconditional love."

Wayne Dyer: "You must abandon your fears and create the place in your life where you are independent of outside influences, allow yourself to move up the energy ladder, and come into direct contact withspiritual consciousness."

Paul Ferrini: "Marriage is not a promise to be together throughout all eternity, for no one can promise that. It is a promise to be present "now". It is a vow that must be renewed in each moment if it is to have meaning."

From Unity's Daily Word:

"I respond to life from the power and gentleness of Spirit within."

"Nonresistance is an act of peacefulness. If flows from a consciousness of Spirit that observes wisely and impersonally, discovering the common thread of agreement that unites people."

"If seeming challenges arise, I rely on the presence of God to help me practice nonresistance. Then I am able to look at a difficulty through a lens of kindness and peace."

"God leads me to see myself and the situation lovingly and clearly. I understand that this is an opportunity for accord, an occasion for growth and progress."

"I am grateful to Spirit for the wisdom that flows from my heart and reveals each positive opportunity. Without a sense of opposition, I look with assurance on the condition before me. I respond to life from the power and gentleness of Spirit within"
