Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

August 7

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Our agitation can easily be dissolved.”

“The tension of agitation exhilarates us on occasion. We may even like the feeling. Its outcome seldom satisfies us, however. Being at odds with others frequently escalates tension beyond our tolerance level. And then what?

The short-term gratification we may get from cursory agitation doesn’t feel good for long. So often we feel stuck with it, but that’s never actually the case. We can be free of it instantly. We can just as quickly grab it back, of course.

The challenge of finding a peaceful path seems overwhelming many days. It’s interesting that we find it harder to choose peace rather than turmoil. Only when we understand how insistent and persistent the ego is about controlling us can we in turn fathom the seriousness of our struggle. The ego never has to win, however. That’s up to us.

“I will be at peace today if that’s my choice.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom:     “When our lives are given to the Holy Spirit to use for His purposes, new talents emerge within us. We don’t get our lives together and then give them to God, but rather we give our lives to God and then things start coming together. As our hearts open, our talents and gifts begin to blossom.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes:          “Love completes what Love begins. We all could do a better job of lifting the burden from each others’ shoulder, even though we know that love brought us together. Friends and family can be so exhausting. Usually we make life more difficult for each other, whereas love always makes life easier. Even though I have often approached relationships perversely, let me have a little faith that the power that brings us together can also complete the transaction. My part is not to bail out on the process.”

Wayne Dyer:     “Would you have fear if you knew (without doubt) that God was your real self?”

Paul Ferrini:          “As soon as you and your partner feel separate from each other, correction is needed. It’s time to stop, take a deep breath, step back and look at what’s happening.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“With spiritual insight,
I am taken to new heights of discovery.”

“It has been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Through the blessing of sight, my soul takes in the beauty of God’s creation. I bless my eyes today and give thanks for the precious gift of sight.”

“Most of all, however, I praise God for spiritual insight – an inner knowing that informs me of so much more than what is evident in the physical world. I see past perceived imperfections to the perfection of the Christ within all. I see past confusion to the heart of the matter and all that matters. I envision each day filled with opportunities rather than obstacles.”

“With spiritual insight, I have the courage of my convictions. I am taken to new heights of discovery because with such insight, I recognize the wonder of God’s creativity in all.”

A Course in Miracles:           Lesson 219

Review Lesson 199

“I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.”
“I am not a body. I am free.”
