Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We can always perceive sanity in the most insane people.”
“Serial killers, child abusers, rapists seem way beyond the reaches of sanity. Surely they can’t commit their horrendous crimes if there’s an ounce of sanity in them. So why are we told to look for the sanity?
The Course says that even the most destructive person is God and thus can’t be evil or insane. How does one explain the violence reported in the news then?
Once again, we are reminded that we have a split mind; we are governed by one side or the other, the ego or the Holy Spirit. When an act of violence, covert or overt, is committed by anyone, the ego is the culprit. When the Holy Spirit acts, all is peaceful. Let’s remember that the potential for peace is always present, even when an act of violence is occurring. By looking for it, we can nurture it.”
“I’ll always look for the peaceful side of everyone.
If that’s my focus today, I’ll make a worthy contribution to humanity.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The desire to serve God creates the means by which we do so. Our power doesn’t lie in our resume or our connections. Our power doesn’t lie in what we’ve done or even in what we’re doing. Our power lies in our clarity about why we’re on the earth.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Attack thoughts shrink and harden my mind. Disliking, disdaining, judging, and condemning drain light and space from my mind. Letting go of thoughts of separation releases my energy, expands my mind, and simplifies my life. The only catch is that when I take responsibility for my thoughts, I now have no one to blame.”
Wayne Dyer: “Would you have fear if you knew God was expressing himself as you and that you could never be separated from him?
Paul Ferrini: “Listen to what your partner needs from you. And remember, the issue is always that s/he needs to feel loved and accepted by you, whatever the specific request for validation is.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Through an ever-growing, spiritual awareness,
I am flexible in all my interactions.”
“The tress most likely to survive a storm are the ones with deep roots and flexible trunks and branches. This manifestation is consistent with all nature, and it reflects the need I have for strong roots and the ability to be flexible and open with others.”
“When I feel a need to have things occur my way or to see events work out in a particular manner, I may be setting myself up for disappointment. Rooted in contemplative prayer, however, I unclench emotionally and allow these demands to become preferences.”
“The more spiritually aware I am, the more flexible I can be. As I continue to expand my awareness, I see the world in new ways and I deepen my connection with all humanity.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 220
Review Lesson 200
“I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.”
“There is no peace except the peace of God.”
