Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We can “correct” our thoughts.”
“Knowing that we can change our thoughts relaxes us from the hold any negative idea or opinion has over us. We have all heard someone lament, “I can’t help how I think. It’s just who I am.” On the contrary, says the Course, we are the creators of our thoughts. We are responsible for who we are. What’s good about this is that it means we can change a situation instantly by changing how we perceive it.
Some thoughts are obviously not good for us – the plan to inflict harm on someone because we aren’t getting our way, for instance. Others are much more subtle, such as wishing bad luck on a friend. These thoughts might not manifest themselves in others’ lives, but they do affect ours. The guilt we accumulate hinders us in all relationships. This in turn changes every experience we have.
Learning, as we presently are, that thoughts can be changed instantly gives us the tool for the kind of holy experience we truly deserve.”
“I will choose my thoughts wisely today.
If I’m uncertain,
the Holy Spirit is available for consultation.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Heaven in within us. It has nothing ultimately to do with thoughts of someone else, and everything to do with what we choose to think – not just about one person, but about all people.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Embarrassment can block peace, but it adds nothing to my life. “Embarrassment is shrunken perspective. There is always a lot more going on than we see or imagine. So there are worse approaches than trusting that God holds our hand and walks beside us. There are worse approaches than believing that we are each loved with a love so large that all our mistakes are washed clean. There are worse approaches than to walk forth in newness into a day drenched in light.”
Wayne Dyer: “Make a list of all your problems and see if you can find one that is not rooted in fear that you are separate from spirit.”
Paul Ferrini: “Forgiveness is the key to success in every relationship. Indeed, if you and another person are committed to practicing forgiveness you can live together successfully, even though you don’t have a lot in common.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“I let go and let God guide me
in new experiences and accomplishments.”
“Have I ever had the experience of thinking I had released a situation only to find that a word or phrase or action brings it rushing back?”
“The truth is that I am a work in progress and I making progress each day. When I need a loving reminder that all negativity from the past should remain in the past, I turn to God for assurance.”
“Whatever issues I have been working on, God is the solution. So I let go and let God. God is the light that shines on me and on everyone around me. In the peaceful glow of divine light, I release the thoughts and feelings that have been holding me back. I accept that I have a new life in Spirit, a life filled with new experiences and accomplishments.”
From A Course in Miracles: Lesson 222
“God is with me. I live and move in Him.”
