Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

August 28

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“We have a lifeline to God.”

“Nearly every day something happens that triggers fear in us. People criticize us, family member don’t answer our calls, job interview get canceled. We shudder with fear trying to manage the everyday uncertainties. If only we’d remember that we have access to the perfect manager for every situation.

Our experiences here, in this illusory world, have been requested by us. That doesn’t mean we’ll know how to handle any of them. It simply means that we need to learn, while in these bodies, is contained within the situations that beckon. We’ll assimilate them far more successfully if we seek the company of the Holy Spirit while we explore and absorb them. Nothing that comes to us can really harm us if we see it through the eyes of God, and this perspective is always with us.

If we’re filled with fear or anger at any time, we need to tug on our lifeline. God can’t help us, ever, if we don’t initiate His involvement.”

“I will have peace today if I seek the involvement of the Holy Spirit.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “In the eyes of God, we’re all perfect, and we have unlimited capacity to express brilliantly.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “A watched mind never boils. The first step to restoring happiness is, if it’s boiling put the lid on the ego so it doesn’t splatter on other people. Now I have taken responsibility for my state of mind and can focus on what I alone can control. As long as I am in my ego, I am out of control. But once I allow my thoughts to settle down, I discover that the stillness I experience is already in control, because there is no conflict within it.

Wayne Dyer: “As much as possible, keep your faith a private matter between you and God.”

Paul Ferrini: “The clay gets molded by your willingness to stay in your process. In your struggle and in your surrender, the clay gets molded. The work of art is offered, torn apart and offered once again. At some point, you know it is finished and you can work on it no more. And then you walk away from it and more clay is given into your hands. It has a different consistency, a different potential. It brings new challenges.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I answer the invitation of life
to find joy in change and growth.”

“It has been said that a person can never step into the same river twice, for the river is constantly moving and changing.”

“Without change, there can be no growth. Life stirs within the seed, the shell cracks, and a flower, a blade of grass, or a tree grows. We rejoice when we see the robin break free of its shell, and then with time, it finds its balance and spreads its wings to fly. Nature teaches us much about finding joy in change.”

“Life itself invites us to change and grow every day. This is how we discover and use the power of God within us so that we soar. May we always celebrate the joyous changes that take place every time we replace fear with faith, anger with peace, and sorrow with joy. As we change the way we think, our world changes with us.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 240

“Fear is not justified in any form.”
