Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Forgiveness in this world is equivalent to love in Heaven.”
“Why is it so hard to forgive others’ character defects? Not only do we resist forgiving them, we contemplate aggressive punishment in many cases. We have been told by other Course students that, in reality, we cower from forgiving ourselves. And when we can finally forgive ourselves, we discover that our resentments toward others have dissipated.
Why are we so hard on ourselves, and consequently, others? It’s owing to the guilt we feel for having “exchanged” God’s world for this painful and silly charade. In one insane moment we refuse God’s unconditional love, and this nightmare is the result.
We don’t relish remaining here because the anxiety is so great. But the ego puts up a struggle every time we choose to honor God’s memory. Fortunately, God placed the Holy Spirit in our minds when we “escaped.” That’s our ticket back. In time, we will make the final journey home.”
“I am on a mission today to return to my real home.
I will contemplate the memory of God that’s within me.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “True change doesn’t emerge just from action; it emerges from genuine understanding. Action that stems from shallow understanding turns out to be shallow action. Action that flows from deeply felt consciousness is action that can change the world.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “To be right is to be separate. In God – that is, within happiness, love, and peace – I am naturally myself and naturally bonded with others. The effort required of me to be in God is to let go of my decision to be right. Deciding to be right is my attempt to separate myself from the right-mindedness of God. It’s also my attempt to become a victim of the person I have made wrong. And when I feel like a victim, I am at my most destructive. All of this can be remedied by having a little honest chat with myself.”
Wayne Dyer: “Remind yourself that a placebo is a perfect example of faith at work.”
Paul Ferrini: “Because you do not like a particular piece of artwork does not mean that it ceases to be a work of art. There are no boring stories out there. Each tale is a gem. Each sculpture a genius.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“I am free to live a meaningful life
and to add meaning to the lives of others.”
“A bird soaring through the air is often considered a symbol of freedom.”
“Let us also consider the example of freedom our beloved pets offer us. Because it gives us joy to provide for them, they live lives that are free from want. Their purpose in life seems to be to love us and be loved by u s. Our pets gaze at us with trusting eyes, never doubting that we are worthy of their trust and devotion.”
“God has provided us with all that we will ever need to live lives of freedom. We are free to learn and to teach, to love and be loved. We are free to live meaningful lives and to add meaning to the lives of others. Ours is a freedom of spirit that has no limitation.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 243
“Today I will judge nothing than occurs.”
