Seeds for The Garden of your Mind

October 2

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“God does not condemn.”

“It’s startling information that God is not part of this world. We were probably taught that God not only watched us and protected us, but also held us accountable for our transgressions. The condemnation we received for those “sins,” often at the hands of ministers or punishing parents, was to appease God.

The Course insists that God doesn’t punish, that we are never less than perfect in God’s world. Because our behavior belies this often, what are we to believe? Acceptance doesn’t come easy, but we’re told to believe that what we see and think and do here aren’t real, aren’t true, at least not according to God. Does this mean we can freely attack others? Not exactly. We can, of course, if we must, but the text teaches that whatever we do to another, we are doing to ourselves. Its simple suggestion is that we seek an alternative behavior. An idea for one will come.

“Today I will remember that God never punishes me.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Relationships are assignments. Relationships are the Holy Spirit’s laboratories in which He brings together people who have the maximal opportunity for mutual growth.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “All I need do is make the effort. I tend to forget how long and hard I have worked at being unhappy and how painstakingly I have learned the rules of misery. Am I now going to resent the little effort needed to let go of suffering?

Wayne Dyer, “At the core of our being, rooted deep within our soul there is the knowing that we are indestructible. We have the hope of immortality, of life after death, which is the incentive for more perfection.”

Paul Ferrini, “Changes occur from the inside out. As you embrace your gift and move through your fear of expressing it, old, out dated lifestyle structures are de-energized. Without receiving new energy from you, these structures crumble and fall apart. You don’t have to tear them down.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“My body is a temple of God’s healing life.
I am healthy and whole.”

“As I turn in prayer to the truth of God’s healing life within me, I fill my mind with thoughts of life. I understand that my body has been created with all it needs to heal itself.”

“I affirm that every atom of my being is cooperating so that healing does take place. That ability to heal was present in me with the first breath I took. God’s healing presence continues to do a wondrous work in me.”

“God’s love brings healing to my emotions. I release resentments. The past has taught me much, and I have been guided to where I am now so that I may continue to learn. Difficulties are transformed into accomplishments. My ability to love is constantly deepened.”

“Knowing my oneness with God, I experience true healing.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 275

“God’s healing Voice protects all things today.”
