Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Problems exist only in the mind.”
“When we’ve missed an airplane, sprained an ankle, or lost a billfold, we’re not easily convinced that problems exist only in our minds. Surely we’re not supposed to deny all the mishaps that plague us.
It’s true, unfortunate events happen. When they do, we must acknowledge them, take responsibility for getting back on track, then move on. We have to the capacity to look beyond them and realize they are teaching tools rather than catastrophes. Nothing has to hinder our growth. Every experience can be a way to draw closer to the Holy Spirit and thus God.
Knowing that we can “manufacture” acceptance and even joy at will changes every element of our lives. This, in turn, can help to change the lives of those close to us. How we treat them can be contagious.”
“How I see a situation today determines the outcome.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Commitment in a relationship means commitment to the process of mutual understanding and forgiveness – no matter how many conversations it takes, or how uncomfortable those conversations might sometimes be.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Happiness is flexible. Why does everything have to be finished? Why does every ‘realistic’ movie have to be watched to its depressing conclusion, every party attended until someone else leaves first, every argument pursued until the last bitter exchange, every stab of sadness or depressions endlessly analyzed, every grievance milked dry? The only thing I have to carry through on is kindness – to others and myself.”
Wayne Dyer, “When it seems impossible to stop in the midst of turmoil and suffering and search for blessings, remember that all the times that seemed so traumatic in the past now seem, in retrospect, to have been valuable growth experiences.”
Paul Ferrini, “When your unconscious desires are different from your conscious goals, what you bring into your life reflects a mixture of both.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“I have faith in God to restore a perfect balance
in all and through all.
“God is the One Presence, the One Power in the universe. Each time I let the focus of my thoughts be on the power of God to create and to sustain all life and all nature, my faith is renewed.”
“I have faith that the Power that keeps the movements of the planets and stars in balance also helps me keep the activities of my life in order. I have faith that the Presence that balances nature, works in and through the people I care about to restore stability. I have faith that there is nothing beyond God’s power to heal, comfort, strengthen, soothe, provide, and guide.”
“With faith in God, I am at peace.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 290
