George Bernard Shaw wrote "To be in hell is to drift, to be in heaven is to steer" Without direction, our lives feel aimless and without meaning. One way to take charge and give ourselves direction is to set an intention. In other words to have a target, a direction we wish to reach. To steer the course of our life takes patience, practice, time, and yes, hard work.
Most of us don't take the time to monitor our thoughts as they come we think something and its done. However, Ernest Holmes reminds us that if we understand the Law we must constantly embody what we wish to demonstrate, to think only of it, and then we are drawn silently toward it. In other words, in order to give our life direction we must give our thoughts direction.
After years of undisciplined thinking it is no easy chore to take over our minds. Old habits die hard. Every time we assert our own choice and override our own careless or sloppy thinking we are one step closer to living our dream. It doesn't matter how long we have been walking the old road. Once we make the choice to be different, Spirit is ready to walk with us and we move beyond fear and hurt to a place of healing and love.
Affirm: My life unfolds easily and joyously, as I live consciously and intentionally.
