The Challenge

Don't follow the path.Go where there is no path and start a trail. ~ Ruby Bridges

All is Divinity and Nature herself is the body of God ~ Science of Mind, pg 42

By claiming divinity we issue a gigantic challenge to ourselves. "Live as if " Live as if God is really the essence of my life. Live up to the standards I feel I can achieve. Act as though divinity were present in what I say, what I listen to, what I observe, and how I act.

Created in God's image and likeness is a call to excellence, a call to perform at our peak, a call to be the best we can be. How could it be otherwise? Are not our abilities powered by omnipotence? Are not our ideas guided by omniscience? Are not our actions impelled by compassion? We are directed by a perfection that was sees only good and a wisdom that knows only the best.

When we see and acknowledge the God in others, we implicitly see and acknowledge the God in ourselves. When we judge others as coming from the best that they can do at the time, we perceive them as the same God-beings we are. When we hear them speak or witness their deeds or read about their exploits, we perceive them as allowing the God they know to flow through their lives in the best way they know how.

"Living as If " challenges us to live at this level of spiritual development. We may not always live up to it. We may occasionally slip back a notch or two. But the goal is in front of us and we have been challenged to run the race regardless of our age or physical condition. Spirit is our partner and shares each moment with us.

Affirm: I rejoice in the wonder of life's journey. I accept Spirit's challenge to live as If I am a divine emanation, and I direct all my energies to this purpose.
