Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Living the Course doesn’t mean having a problem-free life.”
“We think we want to be problem-free. We’re sure we don’t need the anxiety and confusion that accompany all the unexpected situations in our lives. But struggles offer us opportunities to remember the presence of the Holy Spirit. Observing all experiences from Its view changes us, and our very lives, completely.”
“We can learn to accept our so-called problems as vehicles for the journey to serenity. Dreading them or responding to them with fear never comforts us. Quite the opposite, in fact. But this tiny change in mind-set changes how we experience all of life. How profoundly different we’ll feel when we decide to rely on the Holy Spirit for our interpretation of the events of the day.”
Practicing the presence of the Holy Spirit fills us with peace. We could have learned this long ago. Let’s not waste any more time.”
“I will see anew today.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Illumination is the light in the mind. Word made flesh, the integration of heaven and earth. Illumination is not of this world. It lifts us above the lies of the world by helping us to detach from them.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “The kingdom of heaven is within. To say there is a Plan, that everything fits, that there is meaning to it all, is an absurd if not outrageous concept in light of the cruelty and unfairness of the world. And the horrors of ‘Mother Nature’ are no less numerous or extreme than the horrors of humanity. Yet now and again the clouds of perception part, and for just a moment we know that all is well, that we are all watched over by One who knows and loves us, and that in a way makes no sense to the body’s eyes and the body’s brain, everything that happens is anticipated and blessed.”
Wayne Dyer: “If you are not radiant with joy and friendliness, if you have a long pouting face and a chip on your shoulder, if you find it difficult to smile and a burden to be genial, and if you are not overflowing with love and goodwill for every creature and every being, then one thing is certain – you do not know God.”
Paul Ferrini: “People are not converted to some concept of God, but to an experience of love. One who does not believe in something beyond his small ego suddenly opens to a loving presence that exists both in him and in others. That is the experience that changes lives.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Expressing the sacredness of my soul,
I live every day with purpose and meaning.”
“I may have looked here and there for the answer to my heart’s dreams or my own well-being but felt I found no answer. In prayer, I realize my quest is to reconnect with the presence of god within, the true source of every answer.”
“Dear God, I may have been slumbering spiritually, but now my soul is awake to Your presence and power. I know without a doubt that it is Your life that enlivens me, Your wisdom that guides me, Your peace that soothes me, Your supply that prospers me. I am no longer simply going through life. I am growing spiritually through life as You lead me to my mountaintop experiences of awareness.”
“Now awakened, I express the sacredness of my soul in all that I am and in all that I do. I live every day with purpose and meaning.”
