Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

December 13

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Home is in our minds.”

“The Course teaches that no one goes home until we all go home. That means we are, in fact, One; what happens to one happens to us all. It makes sense to cultivate feelings of forgiveness and love, because projecting these positive feelings onto others teaches them to do likewise.

The difficulty is that we don’t feel loving all the time. When we’re caught in the throes of the ego, we experience lack, not love, and we seek what we lack from someone else. Because we mirror ourselves “out there,” we do not discover the love we crave. Our existence becomes an insane cycle of lack causing more lack.

The cycle can be ended, however. That’s the blessing. It’s not difficult either. We can quietly rest the zealous ego and acquire the peace of the Holy Spirit. That peace is home, ultimately. And it’s no further away than the blink of an eye. When we reside there more often, others will follow our example. We will all get home together.”

“I can be home in my quiet mind today.
My presence there will appeal to others too.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Forgiveness and acceptance are the powers that heal us.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “God calls us to consider our freedom, not our guilt. Don’t spend one instant chewing on a mistake. To do so releases poison into the psyche. Simply choose a path different from the faulty one already tried. And as you walk, your head held high, notice the smile of welcome toward which you move.”

Wayne Dyer: “Remember, the world has no sadness in it, only people thinking sad thoughts.”

Paul Ferrini: “Scarcity thinking results from your perception that you are not worthy of love. If you do not feel worthy of love, you will project lack outside you. You will see the glass as half empty, rather than half full.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I am experiencing the joy of my spiritual connection with God.”

“Observing an artist creating a sculpture or a singer performing a song, I understand these individuals are acting on inspiration. Their energy and passion proclaim a spiritual connection between creation and Creator.”

“I may ask myself, To what degree am I consciously connecting to and cooperating with God? One way of evaluating this is by looking for the degree and depth of joy in my life.”

“Where am I experiencing joy? What am I doing at those times? My passion may or may not be about a career. It may be found in a favorite hobby or volunteer work, in exercise or meditation. The possibilities are vast.”

“I can be sure that whenever and wherever I experience my greatest happiness, God’s presence is at the heart of whatever I am doing.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 347

“Anger must come from judgment.
Judgment is the weapon I would use against myself,
to keep the miracle away from me.”
