Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

December 18

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“We will never be denied the help we need.”

“We have had far too many experiences that didn’t evolve as we’d planned. The battles we have fought were often fruitless and very harmful. We may have even prayed about the situations seemingly to no avail. What we are coming to understand is that the ego led us astray. If the ego solicits help in prayer, the answer generally reflects the ego’s mood rather than God’s will.

In spite of the ego’s incessant interference, the Holy Spirit really wants to channel God’s message to us. It simply waits quietly for all the ego’s attempts to fail so It can respond to our call. How patient is the Spirit. How patient is God.

Our task is to go to the right source for the solutions to our problems. Can we finally trust that the ego is never the solution? All the turmoil we’ve experienced probably should have been lesson enough, but if it wasn’t, that’s okay. Time is with us. Awareness will come.”

“I will know what I need to in time.
Today will give me an opportunity to learn something of value.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “We give up what want to give up and keep what in some way we still want to keep. There are payoffs for holding on to small, weak patterns. We have an excuse not to shine. We don’t have to take responsibility for the world when we’re spending all our time in emotional pain. We’re too busy. The truth that sets us free is an embrace of the divine within us.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Progress is measured in the number of times we try, not the number of times we fail. Starting over has a cumulative effect because we show our mind that our love of goodness is greater than our love of suffering. It isn’t necessary to first have faith in ourselves. When you think about it, this is an impossible goal when attempting something we have never tried. But trying in itself calls on a deeper reserve, where faith has been replaced with certainty.”

Wayne Dyer: “…state of bliss depends exclusively on the quality of your thoughts. It means letting go of your concerns about how you are being perceived by those around you, it means detaching from the results you produce and, instead, immersing your entire being into the activities of your life.”

Paul Ferrini: “The experience of scarcity is not God punishing you. It is you showing yourself a belief that needs to be corrected.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“Divine Mind expresses itself through me
as creative thought and action.”

“This is the season when creativity sparkles brightly in lights and decorations at every turn, encouraging me to use my talents. I know the joy that being creative brings me. Imaginative energy shines within me and expresses itself in countless ways.”

“I may create something familiar or original. It may be as abstract as drawing or writing with broad abandon or as specific and delicate as stitching find beads. I may fold crackling, glistening, red cellophane or move fluidly to new dance rhythms.”

“With each idea I act on, I am being an expression of creative energy. God blesses me with gifts, talents, and guidance, and my creativity soars!”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 352

“Judgment and love are opposites.
From one come all the sorrows of the world.
But from the other comes the peace of God Himself.”
