Seeds for The Garden of Your Mind

January 26

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Let’s forgive ourselves for the world we’ve created.”

“Within moments of arising each day, we must assume responsibility for the circumstances that unfold. That which we see and experience is not real; however, we have created it as such and then reacted to it. How can we avoid this? Many of us feel at a loss to live differently, primarily because we don’t realize what we are doing each moment. We have forgotten we are living a dream.

Are we willing to accept this as true, that we are wholly responsible for the ills we observe in this world? There is a way to do it with the help of the Course, and that’s by forgiving ourselves for the mistakes we make. The Holy Spirit is eager to show us how.

We aren’t all evil people; the ego has simply distorted our vision. With the Holy Spirit’s help, we’ll be shown what is actually real. The blessing in this is we grow in our ability to forgive everyone else too. We are, afterall, One. What another seemingly has done is only the mistake we, ourselves, have made.

“Forgiveness is the only lesson we need to learn.
By asking the Holy Spirit for help today, I will be shown how to forgive.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “I release you from your past, that I may see you as God sees you. In conversations, those who are not present are often described in terms of their mistakes. Even individuals before us now are seen as stories and not as they are this instant. In faithlessness we think, “You are created in the image and likeness of your past.” Yet it’s not mentally dishonest to focus instead of what is fresh, different, and unexpected. The encounter I am having now has never occurred before. Except on a spiritual level, no one is ever the same, and their progress will not be evident if I only stare at the decisions I have already made about them.”

Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “…what I am proposing is that you open yourself to an idea that allows you to gradually and steadily remember your identity as a divine spiritual connected-to-God entity. In moments you previously labeled as stressful or problematic, you will begin to see the fruits of good deeds (another way of saying problem solving) show up without having to labor long and hard to solve your difficulty.”

Paul Ferrini, Reflections of the Christ Mind: “The desire to communicate with me is essential to opening the door to my presence. I will not force myself upon anyone. The relationship with me is voluntary and must be initiated by each person when s/he is ready.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“My life overflows with God’s good.
I am free.”

“I am making room for the expected and unexpected good in my life. I look forward to adopting new behaviors – patterns of living, giving, and receiving. I realize that to be free, I do not just release old negative surroundings or relationships. I also release any tendency to respond to new surroundings and relationships in old negative ways.”

“From a viewpoint of positive responses and expectations, I accept God’s good. In every area of living, I am prepared to experience God’s power as renewal and strength. I am ready to experience refreshing choices, innovative communication, limitless ways to appreciate and be appreciated. My life overflows with God’s good. I am free.”

A Course in Miracles:

Lesson 26

“My attack thoughts are attacking my invulnerability.”

Comment : The idea for today is that I always attack myself first! What a strange thought! But if I feel that I am attacked, then I am vulnerable, and if I am vulnerable, I am this body. Who I am in truth, who I have and forever will be, is Spirit – and among the many facets of Spirit is that I am invulnerable – I cannot be attacked by me or anyone else. These are but my thoughts in my world of fear. I am not concerned about anything for nothing is real. I am not afraid of anything as I am invulnerable. If I say anything at all to the contrary, I am attacking me.
