It is our job to identify our needs, and then determine a balanced way of getting those needs met. We ultimately expect our Higher Power and the Universe - not one particular person - to be our source. It is unreasonable to expect anyone to be able or willing to meet our every request. We are responsible for asking for what we want and need. It's the other person's responsibility to freely choose whether or not to respond to our request. If we try to coerce or force another to be there for us, that's controlling. There's a difference between asking and demanding. We want love that is freely given.
Melody Beattie
It is second nature to thirst for a full and rewarding life, but we often look in the wrong places. If our quest for material wealth is based on what we can get instead of what we can give, then we will be left empty. What happens after the high has worn off from the things we buy? We must look within ourselves, not outside to TVs and cars and gadgets, for real happiness. For only when we learn to change our inner world does our outer world also begin to change.
Robin Crow
Everything we do is infused with the energy with which we do it. If we're frantic, life will be frantic. If we're peaceful, life will be peaceful. And so our goal in any situation becomes inner peace.
Marianne Williamson
