In order to really start getting hold of the concept of unity, I realized that along with my linear thinking, which I see as a horizontal line, there exists another axis, which I see as more of a vertical axis. And while this axis intersects the mind or linear thinking, intersects my humanity, it also cuts right through it and goes beyond understanding, beyond perhaps even thought. This is the place of the mystic, the place that transcends the physical embodiment and experience of life. That is the place transcends separation and individuality.
J. Anderson
A human being is part of the whole, called by us the 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest -a kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
Albert Einstein
Perhaps children are the happiest people on the planet because they have not learned what they cannot do. They have not been taught to fear and judge and hate, and they have no concept that they must justify their existence.
