Higher Self Sufficiency

When it comes to prayerfulness isn't it a great plan for everyone to have the opportunity to learn and use affirmative prayer, or spiritual mind treatment. That is the grand aim we have in view in this Science of Mind teaching, for all who come in contact with us. Our ministers and practitioners are trained to teach this powerful technique and to use it on behalf of those who are new to it or whose situations are so distracting to them they ask someone else to hold the vision for a time-but only for a time because the last thing we want to do is to cultivate a dependency on another person. No one lives much less thrives by proxy. We believe in what you might call the sufficiency of the higher self to meet any case. We teach people to fish.

All of us are part of the same source, so each of us has direct access to that Source and all of its resources The hitch is that we may not be aware of this or have monetarily lost sight of it. In those moments suffering can occur. Being human we all feel the full range of emotions while at the same time realizing we can choose what to think, and on which patterns of thought to feast so that no experience sidelines us for very long. We can turn our hearts toward our Source whenever we like-the more often the better and certainly as often when feeling strong as when not-and obtain wisdom precisely suited to the situation at hand. Thus we eat forever as our teachers intended. Affirm: Today I remember that wherever I am, God is directly communicating into my mind and heart that which I should know just as It receives my conscious intentions with equal clarity.
