in the attics of life

Fear is the cheapest room in the house.
I would like to see you living in better conditions. – Hafiz

There will be…no uneasiness or anxiety about any outcome, if we know – whether waking or sleeping – that every step of the way God goes with us. – The Science of Mind pg 247

Its nearly time for spring cleaning so lets get a jump on it. In physical terms this looks like housework and gardening. In metaphysical terms it means all that plus an interior makeover, whose timing is not confined to a calendar but is perpetual. Anytime 's a good time to clean out the mind's closets.

Have you ever dreamt of a house and in your dream you go exploring from floor to floor and room to room? Then you come to a room or a whole wing that vaguely disturbs you. You don't want to go in. The other rooms and floors are brightly lit and inviting. Not this one. You feel overwhelmed by whatevers in there and start to turn away, yet know your work will be unfinished unless you keep on.

They say houses in dreams represent the self and its rooms the self's different characteristics. The only scary thing in that dream room is work we have left unfinished. At some point we felt ill prepared to deal with it. But now we have successfully scrubbed and polished the rest of the place. we know what we are doing and this time 's different too because now we know we stand united with the Spirit power that built the house and all things in it. We wouldn't be standing before that door if our path didn't lead safely into it.

Entering we find an attic like accumulation of old beliefs and senses of self. We throw on the lights and sift through the miscellany of who we once thought we were, keeping some things, discarding others. Fear evaporates, we have reclaimed a livable space and our sleep is deep and untroubled.

Affirm: Today any fear evaporates. I reclaim my interior world.
