Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Problems are manufactured by the ego.”
“When we’re in conflict with a friend or even a stranger, we must remember that no tension would exist if we hadn’t created it. Taking full responsibility for whatever we’re experiencing isn’t easy to do. It’s so much easier to blame the other person for our troubles. Being told, as we are in the Course, that problems are always created by the ego is both alarming and confusing.
How do we get from where we are to fully embrace that idea? Surely not by resisting it. Nor arguing about it. Some things we just have to take on faith. This is one of those things. But how do we begin changing how our minds seem to work? We simply and sincerely ask the Holy Spirit for help, and then we get quiet. It’s not as difficult as it seems. It takes willingness, lots of practice, and very little more.
Our problems might even be seen as the ego’s desire for us to seek spiritual help. At this stage of our growth we’re seldom inclined to do so without the push. But the time will come when we’ll need no more pushing. This is perhaps the greatest miracle we’ll realize.
“The ego mind leads me astray.
Today I’ll remember my journey is about changing my mind.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “God does not need us to condemn each other on His behalf, but to love each other on His behalf.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Just one thought of blessing recreates me in its image. I intend to pray for others, but so often I forget or do it halfheartedly. Perhaps this is because sincere gifts from a loving mind are given without calculation, and prayer by its very nature is anonymous. But it is not without effects on the who prays. As I go through the day, I will try to notice any damaged images I carry about anyone I see or think of , and I will correct them on the spot.”
Wayne Dyer: “As you face a problem, remind yourself that you created it wit h one mind, and you will solve it with another.”
Paul Ferrini: “I did not glorify the body, nor did I condemn it. I did not call this world heaven or heal, but taught that both are of your own making.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Through the all-providing love of God,
I am abundantly blessed.”
“Occasionally an unexpected expense or an urgent need may arise. When this happens, I don’t let myself fall into a cycle of worried thinking. Instead of anticipating further problems, I trust that God is at work at this very moment. I expect that my good will come. Perhaps it already has.”
“I reflect on what being a beloved child of God means. It means that the Creator of this abundant universe intends for me to be in the here and now. The love of God is continually fulfilling every need I could ever have – even before I am aware of a need. I am provided for and loved. Thank You, God!”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 39
“My holiness is my salvation.”
I am “saved” by who I am in truth. I am “saved” from my thoughts of fear by simply changing them to love. In accepting the Atonement, I have erased all thoughts of “sin” and “separation” from my mind. My mind is One with God once again.
