Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Salvation of the world is our task.”
“There is so much we fail to understand or handle perfectly each day, it seems, that we can’t imagine how or why we’re assigned to save the world. When understood in the principles of A Course in Miracles, we realize we can do whatever is expected of us. But let’s review how this happens.
All the different physical bodies present in this illusory world are here for the same reason. The ego split off from God in an instant of madness and made up this experience. Forever after, we have sought to blame one another for all the problems endured, always believing that if others would only do our will, all conflict would subside. But that’s not salvation, and salvation is our task. Conflicts offer the path to salvation, however.
When a conflict occurs, recognize it as an invitation to look but not really see. The process of not seeing it allows us to feel and appreciate a moment of peace rather than tension, and others are lovingly affected by our forgiving approach to conflict. Our contribution toward salvation is being made in this instance.”
“If problems seem too big for me today,
perhaps I have not sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “This is the essential building block of our quantum burst out of spiritual darkness: God’s power is the power to reverse all physical laws. By ourselves, of course, we are without this power. Through His power within us, we are workers of miracles and the seedlings of a transformed humanity.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Wallowing in guilt is self-indulgent. To indulge in thoughts of guilt, remorse, and regret seems virtuous, an act of humility or honesty. But it’s actually a failure to take responsibility for my past actions, because it’s still all about me. These thoughts don’t help or heal the individuals I have hurt. I must interrupt my self-attack and give the blessings I have withheld. Often this is best done silently, since the consequences of making amends directly are unpredictable. The decision to bless comes from within and includes the intuition of whether or not to act.”
Wayne Dyer: “Learning to trust may be difficult in the beginning. It will be an exercise in futility if you rely upon your mind to create trust. This is because the mind works on material problems by interpreting sensory data. When turned toward spiritual matters the mind attempts to cover up with intellectual answers by using proofs, logic and theoretical reasoning. It demands assurance and proof to establish tangible results.”
Paul Ferrini: “Anyone who practices being loving returns to the divine home. It does not matter what path s/he take or what s/he calls it. No one way is better than another. You will not get home faster if you believe in me that you will if you believe in Krishna or Buddha. The man or woman who loves the most makes the most progress. That is the simple truth. Religions, sects, dogmas are nothing but obstacles on the journey home. Anyone who thinks he has the one and only truth builds his house on quicksand. It will not take long before he discovers that his pride, narrow-mindedness and lack of tolerance toward others are the cause of his undoing.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“In silent communion with God,
I am spiritually enriched.”
“I don’t let myself become so busy that I lose touch with simply pleasures.”
“Through meditation, I relieve any feelings of stress. Even ten minutes spent in the silence makes a positive difference in my day. When I empty my mind of chatter, my tangled thoughts that the chance to unravel and my intense emotions begin to subside.”
“Perhaps I choose a specific time in my day, such as my lunch or break time, to enter into conscious union with the Divine. During my meditation – in silent communion with God – I am spiritually enriched. Every slow, rhythmic breath brings me to a deeper understanding of my connection with Spirit. I’m not thinking or doing. I am being.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 43
“God is my Source. I cannot see apart from Him.”
I am the image and likeness of God. I am as God is. My Source and I are the same. God is my Cause and I the Effect of God. It is not possible for me not to be with God, for we are the One.
