Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

February 13

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“The world ‘outside’ is only a projection of the ego.”

“Newspapers bombard us with examples of violence and pain. Magazines succeed in increasing their circulation when they hype stories of the bizarre or perverted elements of society. Movies that glorify murder always have an audience. Can it be true that we have made up all of this madness?

It’s not easy to understand that nothing outside of our minds is real. It certainly seems as if the news we hear and read about is happening. And on one level it is – the level of the ego. But the purpose of the ‘madness’ is to finally bring us back to the other part of our minds – the part we call holy. When we choose that space, we are at peace. In that space we don’t see or hear the madness. In that space we are secure, filled with love, and free fro m the stories that haunt us.

The world we project may mystify us. Why would we seek pain, or worse? How we learn our lessons has been up to us. That we learn the main one is all that really matters.”

“Today I will see only love.
All else will fall away before my eyes.”

From Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “We can learn to speak to God as we would speak to a combination therapist/lover/teacher/best friend/One-we-trust-more-than-anything/One-who-loves-us-no-matter-what/One-with-all-the power-and-desire-to-help, for that’s what God is.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Attack is the problem, not the answer. I am making the same mistake in a different form when I indulge in shame, guilt, or self-loathing – first I hurt this person; now I am hurting myself. Justification for attack does not hinge on the object of the attack. Attack in any form blocks the experience of peace.”

Wayne Dyer: “When you find yourself thinking a thought that focuses on what you don’t want, no matter how insignificant it might be, remind yourself that you will ultimately act upon that thought and it will materialize into your life.”

Paul Ferrini: “An open heart and an open mind are the doors that open to love’s presence. Even when the door is closed, it bids you open it.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“With trust in God’s comforting presence,
I am strong and self-assured.”

“In looking back, we may remember that as children we huddled under covers during a thunderstorm. We found enough shelter in the soft blankets and comfort in hugging our pillows to ride out the storm.”

“When dramatic moments touch our lives, whether through a thunderclap or a life-changing event, it is natural for us to desire comfort. Instinctively we may feel the need to reach for help, looking for something that we can cling to in the midst of uncertainty.”

“That comfort does come when we realize we don’t have to go through this or anything else alone. Turning to God’s spirit within, we find new strength. With trust in God’s comforting presence, we willingly accept safe passage through any storm of life.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 44

“God is the light in which I see.”

The light is me is God, and that light shines so others may see as well. God is my light so I may see others in their light as well. We are – I am – the Light of the world – we shine so Love is seen. We shine so Love is experienced. We shine so that no darkness exists.
