Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

February 23

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Having a headache and having cancer are one and the same.”

“We resist this idea, particularly as it pertains to ourselves or a loved one. But the Course tells us “there is no order of difficulty in miracles.” All problems are equal and reflect the ego. They exist however we imagine them. Of course, this means they can be as simple or difficult to solve as we decide. “Good fortune” is also the mirror of our mind. Since this is so, isn’t it strange that we so much sorrow and angst?

The good news is that we can use our minds to our advantage just as easily as we use them to our injury. The choice is always open to us. Whatever this day offers can be enjoyed, barely survived, or completely devastating. The perspective we cultivate determines the experience we’ll have.

We are much more in the driver’s seat than we might have imagined. That might fill us with fear. However, we can eliminate the fear by imagining only love emanating from our companions, our experiences, ourselves. The outer world perfectly reflects our inner picture.

“Today I will be a happy as I make up my mind to be.”

Marianne Williamson: “The spiritual journey, the path of recovery and personal growth, is a detoxification process in which we bring up and out the negative beliefs we have carried with us from the past and that now poison the present.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “God’s light shines in all directions. To heal the past, just dance backward through the rays of God, which shine through every step you ever took. They are always there, even though you chose to close your eyes. Then dance back to your home within the present. But leave the door open wide behind you to such brilliant shadows and healing memories.”

Wayne Dyer: “If you insist on being right you will argue, get frustrated, angry, and your problem will persist…”

Paul Ferrini: “All healing happens thus: as illusions are surrendered, truth appears. As separation is relinquished, the original unity emerges unchanged. When you stop pretending to be what you are not, what you are can be clearly seen.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“The power of God surrounds and enfolds me now.”

“If ever I feel uncertain about myself or uncomfortable with the conditions I am experiencing, there is something powerfully effective I can do. I affirm the truth: The power of God surrounds and enfolds me now. I am able to think clearly and act with confidence and poise.”

“In my prayer times, I build on a consciousness of God’s power and presence in much the same way a mason builds a strong wall. I affirm the activity of the power of God in any moment of stress and know that all is well.”

“The power of God within me enables me to be strong in every circumstance and to act courageously when others need reassurance. I am strong in the awareness of God’s presence within my and within every situation that arises in life.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 54

Review Lessons 16 – 20

“I have no neutral thoughts.”
“I see no neutral things.”
“I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my seeing.”
“I am not alone in experiencing the effects of my thoughts.”
“I am determined to see.”

The Course very clearly tells me that I cannot be neutral in my world; that I am always one way or the other – I am either right or wrong, sad or happy, etc. I have no thoughts which are neutral; I am constantly judging my world I make. And I have others that I show my thoughts to in my world; that I show my judgment of my thoughts, and some of them appear to agree with me, while others do not. This is craziness at best and I am determined to see beyond what appears before me. And I know deep within me that truth is before me – neither neutral nor judgmental – simply truth – simply love. I am determined to see truth.

Yes. I believe that we have the choice and through our choices light can shine.
