Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

March 2

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Every situation can bring us closer to God.”

We have the capacity to bring the Holy Spirit into every situation; all we have to do is request Its presence, love, support. The sting of any circumstance is soothed just as quickly as we turn our attention to God.

Most troubling conditions result from the ego getting out of hand, but the good news is that every problem is an opportunity to turn to the Holy Spirit. The more accustomed we become to relying on the Holy Spirit, the less frequently we’ll allow the ego to lead us astray.

There is no time or need for regrets over the ego’s transgressions. Forgiveness is why we’re here. When we forgive ourselves, as we will when we turn to the Holy Spirit for help, we’ll draw closer to the others around us. Seeing our Oneness, loving our sameness, heals all of us.”

“Getting closer to God is my option today.
It’s up to me to make the first move.”

Marianne Williamson: “Honesty with ourselves and God, and the willingness to be healed by Him, form the crux of the pilgrim’s journey.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “I am completely at peace with the way you are. I tell myself that the people I know are in God’s hands, but do I believe it? For if God loves us all equally and guide us all impartially, why do I keep expecting people to behave differently? Today, whenever some behavior does not meet with my approval, I will silently say, “Because God is real, it is possible for me to be at peace with what you just did.”

Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “Empty of ego and affiliated with the spiritual principles of love, kindness, surrender, peace, connectedness, forgiveness, cheerfulness, and gratitude you get closer and closer to God.”

Paul Ferrini, Reflections of the Christ Mind: “The light of truth lives even in the darkest of places…Darkness cannot exist except in reference to the light. No matter how great your pain, it is measured in the degree to which you feel love’s absence or loss. All darkness is a journey toward light. All pain is a journey toward love without conditions.”

From Unity’s Daily Word:

“In harmony with God each day,
I am preparing for my future.”

“Dreaming of the future and setting attainable goals for myself are exciting and invigorating. There is joy in envisioning what my heart desires and what I can contribute to the people I love and the world in which I live.”

“In faith I know that my future is secure. It is not controlled by external circumstances or other individuals. God is my guiding force. In harmony with God each day, I am preparing for my future.”

“As I enjoy making plans and setting goals, I affirm that whatever I may need or whatever good I desire is already here, right now, just waiting for me to realize its full potential. Affirming this truth builds an awareness of the activity of God in my life.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 61

“I am the light of the world.”

Some of us refer to Jesus as the “light of the world.” But Jesus tells us in the Course that we are as he was – the light of the world. We are the light that shines away the darkness we make. We are the light in a world of fear and chaos, both of which disappear as we shine upon them. What does it mean to you to be the “light of the world”? How do you see a “light of the world”? Do you picture it as a beacon of light in an otherwise dark world? Do you see it as a “spot-light” illuminating your path? Do you picture it as the brightness caused by your radiance of truth? You and I are the light of the world we make. How bright we believe we shine is but a thought within us. Our brightness – our glory – is as God is.

Namaste – Ron
