Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

March 20

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Each day is a new beginning.”

“Being here, now, is all there is. That can be a comforting idea. Whatever disrupted our lives yesterday or when we were children no longer has any control over us. Past experiences are gone forever. If we are haunted by a memory, it’s our choice. But why would we want to feel sad or violated or abandoned all over again?

We hang on to the past because we think it defines all that we can be. The Course tells us that we are whoever we want to be. It’s all in the mind. Being happy and successful and full of love for ourselves and absolutely everybody we meet seems a farfetched dream. It can be our reality though. How? Simply experience each moment with the help and love of the Holy Spirit. Let those eyes see for us. Let that heart feel for us. Let that voice speak for us.

What makes us mad at any moment is really a past event triggered b the present experience. Why keep living the same old circumstances again?

“I will see today as new.
Nothing from my past is here, now, unless I bring it.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “We have great power to affect the attitudes and behavior of the people around us, at work and at home. We have the power to set a tone of honor, to create an energy around ourselves that says, “I respect myself. I respect you. Let’s respect each other.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Being tolerant is healthier than being separate or controlling. True healing includes the recognition that we never suffer alone. Thus healing ourselves is an act of generosity, not of self-indulgence. Each degree of spiritual progress is fueled by an increased awareness of our effect on others. Today I will remain aware of connection, for therein lies true health.”

Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “Once you realize that you cannot influence God, nor can you find God in some place where he has hidden from you, you know that nothing is being withheld from you and your can commune with this omnipresent source and bring that love to bear on your personal problems.”

Paul Ferrini, Reflections of The Christ Mind: “Spirituality and religion are not necessarily the same thing. Religion is the outer form; spirituality is the inner content. Religion is the hush; spirituality is the seed. Religion is a set of beliefs; spirituality is a continuum of experience.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“Something new and meaningful is emerging for me and through me.”

“During the winter months, I understood that new life was beneath the soil, preparing to emerge. Now green shoots of plants can be seen breaking through the ground as evidence of a new season of growth.”

“As I witness nature undergoing a transformation, I reflect upon changes taking place in my own life. Some changes may be happening beneath the surface – not yet visible in outer form. Life, like a seed or a bulb in the ground, contains tremendous possibilities.”

“Trusting in God for direction, I recognize the possibilities of my life and let them take root and grow. In my own breakthrough experience, something new and meaningful is emerging.”

From A Course in Miracles: Lesson 79

“Let me recognize the problem so it can be solved.”

Once I am able to see that I have a problem, the solution to that problem is close at hand. But first I must admit I can indeed see a problem – I can see that I am holding thoughts which are not in love. I am holding fear where I should be embracing love. Once my problems are seen, and I willing want a change of thought, the problem ceases to exist.

Yes, why relive the drama and keep it alive? There are events that change us... through the horror or the pain..yet if we reside in the past we are losing out on our lives, the beauty of now.
