Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Knowing the presence of love is the miracle.”
“When we are feeling loving for ourselves, for the people and the experiences in our lives, we are in the midst of a miracle. It is comforting to realize that we can choose to feel love, regardless of our current feelings, if we’ve made the decision to shift our perception. No experience controls our feelings.
It’s easier to feel love, of course, when we remember we are not separate minds and separate bodies in competition for the resources we seek. Knowing and trusting that we are One with the Spirit is very helpful, however infrequently we can do it.
Sometimes we wonder why we ever created the separation. And we’re learning that the ego is not really our friend, even though therapists may have said that it needed to be strong. It’s good to remember, when we’re feeling confused, that we’re in these bodies as students. The question to ask is, “What can I learn?”
“I am ready for a miracle. Today will be as peaceful as my mind.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Our daily prayer work creates a context for the transformation of who we are and what we do. Every morning, we ask to be made new. Every evening, we take stock of how well we did this day – where we rose up in glory, and where we stumbled and fell.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Treat your body as you would treat your beloved pet. Most of us have more balanced sense of how to identify with a dog than with our body. We love our dog today, but we can’t love our body because we are waiting for it to be different. Free of the anger that comes from unreasonable expectations, we feed our dog a good, simple diet. We exercise him and bathe him and take him to get his shots. We keep him away fro dangerous situations and gently decline to give him everything he wants. There is no war in this relationship because there is neither neglect nor a battle for perfection. A sane approach to questions about diet, exercise, sleep, and the like is to ask, ‘If my body were my beloved pet, what would I do?”
Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “Actions and thoughts, which you might call evil, are the result of the error that is made when you believe you are separate from God.”
Paul Ferrini, Reflections of The Christ Mind: “Spiritual experience is simply that which relaxes the mind and uplifts the heart.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“The love of God is nourishing, enriching, and healing me at depth.”
“In meditation and prayer, I open my heart to God’s healing, sustaining, comforting love. Just as the earth responds to nourishing rain and the energizing morning sun with renewed life, so, too, do my body, mind, and spirit respond with renewal to the free flow of God’s love.”
“Whenever I perceive that I have a need for greater health and well-being, I know to center my thoughts in the love of God. With this understanding, I bathe every cell of my being in the powerful glow of divine healing. I move forward in making choices that heighten and restore my health.”
“The love of God is nourishing, enriching, and healing me at depth.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 80
“Let me recognize my problems have been solved.”
Where once I thought I had problems, I now see peace. Where once I saw chaos and confusion, I now see peace. Where once I saw fear, I now see love. The problems that I had believed in have vanished from my view. They have been “solved.”
