Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Let’s not judge another.”
“Every day we catch ourselves in the act of judging someone. The ego loves to make comparisons. It loves to keep us feeling separate, either superior or inferior, competitive, and alone. Otherwise it has no control over what we do and think. Why do we keep giving the ego so much power, particularly when we get nothing good in return? Habits are hard to break, even when they harm us.
God doesn’t judge. The Holy Spirit doesn’t judge. Jesus didn’t judge his enemies. This precedent has been set, and we can follow it too. We have heard many times that humans have only two emotions: love and fear. It’s certain that judging others isn’t love. And it’s fairly obvious why others engender fear in us. Even when we have figured it out, though, what have we learned? We are still left with our feelings unless we make the decision to look with love, as Jesus did, on all the people in our lives. We can do this. It’s hard at times but there is a payoff. We’ll feel better about ourselves and others right away.”
“Today I can emulate how Jesus lived.
If I slip, momentarily, that’s okay. I still have the next minute to try again.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The body is a holy lesson in communication and should be seen and treated as a sacred trust. Thoughts of aggression, unforgiveness, conflict, and fear tear down the body.”
Morning Notes, Hugh Prather: “Today I will discard a few problems from the list of the ones I think I need. So that I may have a chance of being happy today, I will practice being whole, feeling whole, and living from wholeness. Problems shatter wholeness and so I will question whether I need all the ones I have kept. Furthermore, I will fail to obsess on the problem du jour.”
Wayne Dyer: “You will feel peaceful and content, and this will be apparent in your behavior. This is true for virtually everything about your life. Your thoughts about health, relationships, prosperity, God, work, recreation, whatever. If these thoughts are rooted in love, kindness and forgiveness toward yourself, toward you work and co-workers, toward the money you receive, toward your spiritual beliefs, then you will be in harmony and you will welcome the blessings that result from your personal conduct in these matters.”
Paul Ferrini: “A friend is one who is free to agree or disagree. A friend will speak to you truthfully. She may or may not perceive the situation accurately, but she is not afraid to tell you what she thinks. A friend speaks her truth and then reminds you that you are free to make you own choice. This is love in action. A friend loves you equally whether she is saying yes or no. She is willing to share her experience, but she doesn’t try to impose her opinion on you. You can’t be a friend if you are not willing to tell the truth.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“One with God, I am free in heart, mind, and spirit.”
“When I am doing what I love to do, I experience freedom of heart, mind, and spirit. Using my talents to contribute something of value, I allow my creativity to sparkle, my intentions to shine, and my ingenuity to expand and benefit others.”
“I willingly share myself and my gifts. In doing so, I am being the free and resourceful person God created me to be. Fully aligned with this purpose, I demonstrate abilities I knew I had and discover even more. I live from an awareness of my oneness with God. This understanding is the greatest source of freedom there is.”
“No matter what constraints may appear in my world, my freedom in God is absolute. My heart, mind, and spirit are always free. Acknowledging this, I am deeply blessed.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 85
Review Lessons 69 and 70
Lesson 69 – “My grievances hide the light of the world in me.”
Lesson 70 – “My salvation comes from me.”
My fears, my grievances, block the light from within me to shine upon the world I see. My brother cannot see my light for I have hidden it from him as well as from myself. My brother cannot remove fears from me. My brother cannot make the light shine from me. I am responsible for my light; I must release my fears so that all may see me in truth.
