Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We must discard most of what we have learned.”
“It’s unsettling to discover that we were trained to interpret life’s details all wrong. Did our parents, teachers, and religious leaders intentionally steer us wrong? Actually they taught us what they had learned. They meant no harm. Fortunately, we now have a different view. That’s all that matters. And it’s our assignment to offer our interpretation to others who seek solace and a new direction.
Whatever happened in the past doesn’t need to be addressed again. That’s a decision we can make. How we felt about our experiences was colored by a perspective we no longer share, so there’s nothing to be gained by revisiting them. Forgiveness may be necessary to leave the past behind, and we can do that with the help of the Holy Spirit.
While it’s true that some of what we learned may not hurt us, we can’t comfortably straddle two conflicting viewpoints. Either we let the ego control our vision, thoughts, and actions, or we let the Holy Spirit. There’s no in-between.”
“My new perspective will make today much more positive.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “There is nowhere you need to go to find God, for God is within you. There is no one you need ask if you are good enough, for He has already established that He is exceedingly well pleased. There is no one you need look to for victory, except the One who has risen within you.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Let my first response be stillness. Because stillness resides in my heart, not in circumstances, it need never be delayed until a more convenient time. Because stillness is the presence of peace, not the absence of noise, it is always present.”
Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “The absolute way to health, prosperity, and love is in knowing that disease, scarcity, or evil never can be acknowledged as having power. If you ask God to heal you, you are acknowledging that God made you sick. When you ask God for special favors, you acknowledge a God power that kept those favors from you.”
Paul Ferrini, Reflections of The Christ Mind: “In your interactions with others, you have a simple choice: to find them innocent or to find them guilty. This choice occurs over and over again, every day, every hour, every moment. Thought by thought, you imprison other people or release them. And as you choose to treat them, so do you deliver the same judgment upon yourself.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Giving expression to the spirit of God within,
I do my very best.”
“Our role models are people we greatly admire and want to emulate in our lives. Led in doing their best by the spirit of God within, they have shown us how to do the very best in both everyday and exceptional circumstances.”
“Whether a patient or child, friend or acquaintance, teacher or student, we each have a role to play in the lives of those around us. Perhaps it is our role to be the fearless one in the face of fear, the positive one in an apparent negative situation, the strong one when another feels helpless.”
“As we give expression to the spirit of God within us, we know the joy of doing the very best in whatever we do.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 88
Review Lessons 75 and 76
Lesson 75 – “The light has come.”
Lesson 76 – “I under no laws but God’s.”
I am the light of my world and I have come so that my world is seen in love and not fear. I have come so that others may witness my light and believe in theirs as well. This is not accomplished because of some law of the universe that I have made, but because it is the “law” of God. Love flows eternally. No scientific law can explain it, but many will affirm it.
