Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“To rise above defensiveness is now possible.”
“When we are defensive we have let the ego take charge. The ego wants to win, to be right, to control all decisions and people. When the ego encounters others egos, arguments result and we find ourselves getting defensive.
Disagreeing, pouting, resentfully giving in, compromising, and unwillingly negotiating become a way of life for most people. That wouldn’t be a problem if it didn’t thwart the growth that is the gift of our journey here. Our time here is full of purpose, and we aren’t fulfilling it if we are caught in battles of the ego.
Rising above the struggle is as simple as quietly asking for a “second opinion,” so to speak, of the situation that’s got us agitated. There always is another way of looking at a situation. If we go to the right source, we’ll discover it. The only right source is the Holy Spirit.”
“Today I can be free of strife.
The Holy Spirit will transform my view of every situation.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Violence is routed out of the world only be being routed out of our minds. Hatred is diseased thinking. Just as a cancer cell was a healthy cell that then transformed, so is hatred, love gone wrong.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: True solitude includes connection. It makes no sense to say that in order to feel that which joins us all, we must get away from each other. To know stillness, I need not rearrange my life, merely my values. To know stillness, I need only give it respect.”
Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “You will taste the fruits of synchronicity wherein you are in collaboration with fate to manage the coincidences of your life. You will have a knowing that transcends the mind and the body. As you become more aware of your divinity you will discover your abilities to remove illusions of illness, scarcity, and evil…”
Paul Ferrini, Reflections of The Christ Mind: “Every judgment you make about your brother or sister states very specifically what you cannot accept about yourself. You never judge or dislike another person unless s/he reminds you of yourself.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Through the Christ Spirit within me,
I am a wise, confident, and loving person.”
“Coming to a crossroad in life, a turning point, I may be making a decision about a career change, where I live, or a relationship. It’s about my life, and I have a choice in making a decision about what my responsibilities are and how I go about fulfilling them.”
“What do I bring to this turning point and beyond? I bring my faith in God working through me in all situations, my enthusiasm for life and every unique opportunity it offers me, and my willingness to be both student and teacher in what is now unfolding.”
“Whatever new direction I am considering this day or in the days and weeks to come, I know that the Christ Spirit is within me and flowing from me. I am on my own journey of discovery, becoming a wiser, more confident, and loving person each day.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 89
Review Lessons 77 & 78
“I am entitled to miracles.”
“Let miracles replace all grievances.”
What makes me think I am entitled to miracles? Is this some ego ploy working here? I have but to remember that miracles are merely a change of my thought – from fear to love. I am entitled to thoughts of Love because I am a thought of Love. Today, and everyday I will change all thoughts of fear to thoughts of Love. I will change my thinking to that which I am in truth. I AM that I AM forever.
