Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

April 3

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“A healed mind cannot attack.”

“We are journeying toward healed minds. That’s our purpose in this life. Unfortunately, we don’t always remember what a healed mind is. That’s because maintaining a constant connection to the love of God is elusive and many of us have only brief successes.

Remembering that any person’s outburst of anger is a call for healing and help lessens our need to strike back. Of course, the urge to do so may be there, sometimes powerfully so. But with practice we can strengthen our reliance on the Holy Spirit to guide our responses to every person we encounter. We will never want to attack even the most disruptive individuals if we remember the pain that underlies their behavior.”

“My mind can practice being healed today.
I can look with a loving heart on everyone I meet.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “The heart can listen better than the ears. People converse on two levels: subject matter and feelings. Rarely are the words of an exchange what the conversation is actually about, yet we usually over-interpret and overreact to what the other person says, and even loving relationships sometimes break up over mundane discussions. In the exchanges I have today, I will silently ask, “What does (name of person) really want from me?” More often than not, people want merely to be respected and supported. They want to be understood and appreciated. It’s really not complicated, unless I get all caught up in the words they use or the subject they choose.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Without a commitment to light, a conscious intent to go for Heaven, we remain enamored of darkness, too tempted by its complexities.”

Wayne Dyer: “Forgiveness is a spiritual act of love for yourself and it sends a message to everyone, including yourself, that you are an object of love and that that is what you are going to impart.”

Paul Ferrini, Love Without Conditions: “You cannot avoid the death of the ego, nor can you avoid the death of the body. But these are not necessarily the same. Do not make the mistake of believing that your ego dies when your body dies, or that your body dies when your ego dies.”

From Unity’s Daily Word:

“In the presence of God,
I meet each day with courage and enthusiasm.”

“Changing conditions in my life and in the lives of my family and friends can impact me in ways that I may or may not be consciously aware of at the time. And hearing about conflict and challenges that are taking place on the other side of the world can bring a sense of confusion and concern.”

“At such times, I turn within, take a deep breath, and remember that the presence of God is within me and within every other person in the world. God’s gentle yet all-powerful spirit is an ever-present source of wisdom and peace that is available to all people at all times and in all places. The presence of God is eternal. In this assurance, I meet each day with courage and enthusiasm.”

From A Course in Miracles: Lesson 93

“Light and joy and peace abide in me.”

Some of us see this as a question – is the light, joy and peace within me? Why don’t I feel them? What is wrong with me? Light, joy and peace abide in each of us because they come from the truth within us all. It is only us that are not aware of their presence, only us that do not call upon the strength within us to experience these gifts from God. If you are one that denies their presence, then you are, in effect, denying God as well. God is within each of us, and all of the gifts of God are present also. Some of us just have not taken the moment to open our gifts. Aren’t you interested in what God has for you?
