Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

April 16

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“If we believe we have a purpose, we can dispel our fear.”

“The first stage of believing may be the decision to do so. We may need to make that decision every day, even many times a day. We do have a purpose. That’s why we’re all here. And those of us who travel this path are on a very special mission, in fact. It is our job to forgive and love, and through our example, others will be attracted to do the same thing.

Our lives can be far less complicated than we make them. We get caught in believing that life’s tiny details matter when they don’t. Even a rageful battle with an ex-spouse or a power struggle with a child doesn’t really matter – except to the ego! The ego always wants to win. The ego is always ready to wage war. And our fear about not being in control keeps us listening to the ego.

How refreshing to give up the battle once in a while. Some circumstances will be easier to pass over than others, that’s true. But doing it even once is a beginning. That’s all we need.”

“I may not know the details of my purpose today so I’ll keep it simple.
I’ll offer only love.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “When you ask God to heal your life, He shines a very bright light on everything you need to look at.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Time is always put to some use. How valuable I believe I am determines how I use my time. Do I accept myself as God sees me? If my attitude is that I am of little meaning, I won’t assign a high value to my time, and I’ll pay attention to how I handle it. Time can be used to draw closer to Home or to move further away, but there is no neutral way to use time.”

Wayne Dyer: “Who are the people who seem to be able to push your buttons and send you into a frenzy? Your spouse? Your children? Your parents? A certain employee? Your boss? A neighbor?”

Paul Ferrini: “When you finally discover that no one else can betray you, your relationship to your brother changes profoundly. He is no longer someone who can hurt you or treat you unfairly. Nor is he someone who can save you or make you feel better about yourself.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“With faith in God’s grace,
I explore new experiences.”

“God’s love moves in and through my life as grace. In faith, I know that what may seem impossible is possible. With confidence, I am assured that a plan is unfolding for me and those I love.”

“The power of God’s grace to transform is awe-inspiring. I think back to a time when I thought I knew the probable outcome of a challenge I was facing. But as time has passed and my perception has widened, I realize that an unforeseen good has been realized.”

“With faith in God’s grace, I have the courage to explore new experiences. I may not know every step I will take in the days ahead and what the end result may be, but I am assured that a divine plan will unfold with incredible beauty and grace.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 106

“Let me be still and listen to the truth.”

Of all the things I believe I hear in this world, the truth is not one of them. Truth is “heard” when I still my mind and drop my thoughts of a past that never was and a future that will never be – when I still my mind so that no thoughts are present. Then I am in the stillness of my soul and my truth is made known to me.
