Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We live in God.”
“What does it mean to say we live in God? We wonder about the havoc in our lives. It can’t be part of God. The worry and anger we feel can’t be either. From where does the turmoil arise?
Our real home is with God. We never actually left it; however, according to the Course teachings, the mind took leave from God in a single moment and created this world we inhabiting. There’s no adequate explanation as to why. It just happened. And now we long for the changeless, eternal home of God; fortunately, our experiences with one another are the pathway back, providing we seek our direction from the Holy Spirit.
We don’t have to struggle with our companions. We don’t have to worry about tomorrow. We don’t have to notice disharmony. Even now we can be at home with God if we settle for peace rather than winning an argument. That’s the good news.”
“If I believe I am with God now,
I’ll behave accordingly.
Today can be quite a treat.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Meditation disciplines the mind.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “True righteousness is a path of unlimited options. The path to god is ‘straight’ because it doesn’t veer into limitation. It is ‘narrow’ because it is completely pure. Thus it leads to ever-increasing freedom. There is a great difference between ‘being right’ in opposition to others and maintaining a quiet inner sense of right-mindedness, which includes others. If I abandon my personal sense of right and wrong just because it’s not the standard by others live, I betray myself and so become any enemy to my own substance. The paradox of right and wrong is that although life is not righteous, I can make peace with my life only through righteousness.”
Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “Make meditation a part of your daily life. Resistance to meditation is a universal phenomenon in the western world…nothing more than your fear of coming to know God and therefore taming your demanding ego.”
Paul Ferrini, Grace Unfolding: “When we rest in the heart, we inhabit the present moment fully. We have a choice of what to think, how to feel, and when to act. We dwell at the place of power and possibility. We have the freedom to be ourselves completely.”
From Unity’s Daily Word:
“I appreciate you!”
“The amazing thing about letting others know we appreciate them is that in doing so, we are also blessed.”
“And really it’s no wonder, because we are giving voice to the spirit of God within us. We recognize the goodness of God being expressed by others.”
“Once we start thinking of things we appreciate, the list grows. We are giving free expression to Spirit within when we value others. It’s as if we are saying, “God, I cherish your creations and the joy they bring me.”
“In just one day, we can find so many people to appreciate: family and friends, coworkers and neighbors, teachers and spiritual leaders, peacekeepers and peacemakers. There is no end to appreciating God’s creations.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 115
Review Lessons 99 & 100
“Salvation is my only function here.”
“My part is essential to God’s plan for salvation.”
My forgiveness of myself for the thoughts I have held or hold which are not thoughts of love is why I am in this dream. Changing those thoughts with forgiveness is also how I may wake up from this dream. Because of the free will given me by God, I alone must make those choices on thoughts. If God were to do them for me, I would have no free will. I will perform my function here; I will forgive myself of unloving thoughts and in doing so, I will see all I look upon as One with me.
