Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

April 26

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Unlearning lessons of the past is our challenge.”

“Whenever we learn something new, it changes ever so slightly how we view everything in our lives. Nothing that we hold dear and true is unaffected by the incorporation of a new idea. We are overwhelmed at first with the new information we encounter with the Course. Must we toss out everything and start over?

If we could, perhaps that would be easiest. However, we don’t have to. We simply need to acknowledge that the ego did most of our interpreting in the past and it didn’t serve our spiritual interests. The ego strengthen selfishness. We focused our attention on scarcity and blame, thus fear predominated. Our actions didn’t nurture our companions or ourselves. We learned so much that was “wrong.” Can we really unlearn it?”

“I will embrace the Course one idea at a time.
Today everything that happens is for my good.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Minds are joined, says A Course in Miracles, but bodies are not. The body of itself is nothing. It cannot forgive, it cannot see, and it cannot communicate.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Giving a spiritual gift proves to my mind that I already have it. I forfeit all spiritual gifts the instant I stop extending them to others. Any sense of discontent or emptiness that I may experience today will indicate the precise gift I must give to those around me. I ‘receive’ spiritual gifts only by giving them away.”

Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “In meditation you go to the silence. The silence cannot be divided. Like zero in mathematics, it can never be cut up to be anything other than zero. And so it is with God. Only one. Indivisible.”

Paul Ferrini, Grace Unfolding: “When we rest in the heart, we do not act in compulsive ways. We do not act out our fear or indulge our desires. We recognize our fear and our desire and hold them with compassion. We sink down through the levels of emotional conflict or ambivalence to the place of acceptance. And there we stay until we know what we really want.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“God bless animals,
for they are essential to the balance of nature.”

“Bless the animals of every form and size, wherever they may be. In a heartland or on a coastline, in the pasture or the jungle, all are of God’s creation.”

“Whether legged, winged, scaled, or finned, all creatures are precious to the circle of life. As they go about doing what is theirs to do, they make a positive difference in our world.”

“A tiny, wet-nosed puppy snuggles on a bed. The powerful burst of a whale’s blow reaches for the sky. All animals give us reason to appreciate them.”

“They are handsome, strong, and giving. They give comfort, joy, safety, and service. It is our joy to take care of and protect them and their habitats. Wherever they may be, they are gifts of God, essential to the balance of nature.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 116

Review Lessons 101 & 102
“God’s Will for me is perfect happiness.”
“I share God’s Will for happiness for me.”

Within this dream, I often times believe I am separated from God, that the experiences I am having are caused by a God distant from me. But God’s Will for me is perfect happiness – it is what God experiences with me. Who am I go against the Will of God? I AM but an illusion I believe in! Within me is my truth, and my truth is known to me in the silence – I go there and know that my will and God’s Will are but One Will. Happiness is mine because I am One with God. Unhappiness is a thought offered me by ego as substitute for the Love of God.
