Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We are not separate beings. We are one.”
“Coming to understand our Oneness with each other changes how we perceive every ripple in a day’s happenings. Our problems and our good fortunes take on a different hue. Our Oneness with each other and with God is mysteriously elusive, and the drama we create, again and again, between ourselves and others belies this Oneness.
Some ideas simply must be taken on faith. Our Oneness with all humanity may be one of these ideas. To help ourselves along, perhaps we can acknowledge the similarities we share in our feelings. None of us likes reprimands. Imagined inadequacies haunt each of us. Fear of rejection is not unfamiliar, nor is our interminable obsession of comparing ourselves with our acquaintances. On the other hand, we all enjoy being complimented or appreciated. We all enjoy the satisfaction of overcoming certain obstacles. Seeing how alike we actually are hints at our Oneness, doesn’t it?”
“I will affirm my Oneness with others today.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “There’s only one of us here: What give to others, we give to ourselves. What we withhold from others, we withhold from ourselves. In any moment, when we choose fear instead of love, we deny ourselves the experience of Paradise.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “What I see is what I get. Sight is a literal extension of our self. A gentle vision extends a power as real as its object and transforms it into its own nature. In my presence you become the part of my heart that I have set free.”
Caroline Myss: “Your soul is your connection with eternity, your intermediary between Earth and heaven, between your everyday physical life and a higher reality. It is your calm eye in the hurricane of a chaotic world - yet, it burns to realize its purpose; to communicate with God. It waits impatiently for the opportunity and avenue to unveil itself to you – your own divinity, the God within you.”
Eckhart Tolle: “Complaining is one of the ego’s favorite strategies for strengthening itself. Every complaint is a little story the mind makes up that completely believe in. Whether you complain aloud or in thought makes no difference. Some egos that perhaps don’t have much else to identify with easily survive on complaining alone.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“The spirit of God is my comfort and joy,
my peace and understanding.”
“Looking through an album of old photographs or visiting with family and friends brings back memories of childhood, family events, and people or pets who are no longer with me. When these memories bring up a feeling of sadness or loneliness, I recall Jesus’ promise: ‘I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.”
“Resting in God’s presence, I take comfort in knowing that I am never alone. My comforter is the spirit of God within me – the spirit of joy, peace, and understanding. As I turn within in prayer, I release any sadness. I honor my loved ones and my past by remembering that the spirit of God is eternal, for ever present within me and everyone who is or has been a part of my life.”

“If I defend myself I am attacked.”
“Sickness is a defense against the truth.”
In my ego reasoning, there is no other reason for defending myself, unless I feel I am attacked or will be attacked or even that attack is possible. There is nothing I need defend myself against for there is nothing that can harm me. I am but only thoughts! And when I experience sickness of the body, I know that I am failing to see a truth that lies within me. I have but to change my thought and the sickness is gone. I have but to stay in the truth I am and I have no reason for ever feeling a need for defense.
