Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

June 8

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Jesus is our equal.”

“This may sound like heresy, but Jesus tell us in the Course that he was no different than we are now. He merely learned to transcend the ego more quickly than us. The primary lesson for us every day is to call on the Holy Spirit for understanding, a new vision, or merely comfort and guidance. Even when we think we know the best thing to do, we should consult with the Holy Spirit. The ego has something in mind for us. When we rely on it, trouble is only an act away.

We are not alone, ever. That we often feel alone and scared is evidence that the ego has made us its hostage. However, only the mind has been imprisoned and just for the moment. We can break free by merely thinking of Jesus or God or the Holy Spirit. It’s really quite simple, but be aware, the ego will assert itself again. The tug-of-war hasn’t ended, but the victor is up to us.”

“Jesus and I are one.
Remembering this will help me handle whatever occurs today.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Our barriers to love are rarely consciously chosen. They are our efforts to protect the places where the heart is bruised.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Take others into your heart, not into your self-esteem. The part of me that is connected to others and to the divine speaks directly to my mind. It informs me of who I am, where I am, and Who is with me. The ego tries to find some way to turn all situations into praise for itself, including problems and failures. But true self-esteem is built and sustained through connection with our Source. Thus low self-esteem is not a problem of insufficient inner cheerleading.”

Caroline Myss: ‘What exactly does it mean to be conscious and to act consciously?’

Eckhart Tolle: “A long standing resentment is called a grievance. To carry a grievance is to be in a permanent state of ‘against,’ and that is why grievances constitute a significant part of many people’s ego.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I thank God the life, love
and abundance active within those I hold in prayer.”

“There is a power of life generated in prayers for others. An example of such intercessory prayer is found in Genesis. Rebekah’s desire to have children must have seemed hopeless. Then her husband Issac prayer for her and the answer came – not just as one child, but twins, Esau and Jacob.”

“Perhaps I know people who are temporarily perceiving themselves caught in a barren, hopeless situation. In praying for them, there is no need for me to outline the answer to prayer. I believe that God is the answer, and I support them in a spiritual birthing that brings forth greater love, healing, wisdom, and prosperity in their lives.”

“Releasing the outcome to God, I pray with compassion for others. I am assured that God is the answer to every prayer.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 159

“I give the miracles I have received.”
