Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“The Holy Spirit always knows what we need.”
“Hindsight is a good teacher. Every one of us has been spared our fondest wish on more than one occasion. And today we count our blessings. The marriage we thought we had to have or the job of all jobs would not have brought us lasting happiness. Now we can see what path we were on. It wasn’t luck that saved us, although we may have guessed so before coming to the Course. Now we know the Holy Spirit was “present” when we were faltering.
There’s comfort in the knowledge that the Holy Spirit is always close. But we may wonder why we’ve experienced some tough times anyway. That’s where the ego comes in. Just as we have the voice of the Holy Spirit to rely on, we have the ego’s voice at hand. It convinces us far too often to obey its will. The pain and suffering that dot our past are the evidence of its power. Relying on the Holy Spirit rather than the ego will change not only today but also every tomorrow.:
“I’ll meet no trouble today if I listen to the right voice.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “We are not here to fix, change, or belittle another person. We are here to support, forgive, and heal one another.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Because God is love, I am never alone. Regardless of what spiritual beliefs they profess, most people believe they are alone. They think, act, and pray as if they are alone. This is simple denial that Love exists. It is a misperception that spills on everything in the world they see, and it blocks the experience of peace.”
Caroline Myss: ‘How do you act unconscious – in other words, how often to you pretend to be unaware of the consequences of your actions and their incongruity with your beliefs – when you are really quite aware of what you’re doing?’
Eckhart Tolle: “Don’t try to let go of the grievance. Trying to let go, to forgive, does not work. Forgiveness happens naturally when you see that it has no purpose other than to strengthen a false sense of self, to keep the ego in place. The seeing is freeing.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“God’s love is my constant source of comfort.”
“Even in the most challenging times, when I am able to connect with a family member or trusted friend, I feel better.”
“The reality is that I need never go through anything alone. My most trusted companion is God, whose unending love is guiding me through the dark into the light of day.”
“In times of grief and sorrow, I may tend to forget that my Creator is patiently waiting for me to turn to this love for comfort. Yet when I do, I am enfolded and sustained by divine comfort.”
“I remember this truth throughout the day. And if ever I begin to feel alone or anxious, I let my thoughts take me to the comfort of God’s love.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 163
“There is no death. The Son of God is free.”
